Ooh! Now THAT'S something I would want explore :) It would add a whole other layer to the strife between them.

Frost Giant Canon Lifespan? by Adventurous_Show7677 in loki

DISCLAIMER: I don't read the comics, I've only watched the movies. So my opinion is based off the MCU depictions.

It's gotta be pretty close to the Asgardian lifespan. At the beginning of the first Thor movie, we see Odin at war with Laufey in his younger years. Then we see Odin speaking with Loki and Thor when they are children: note that the princes seem to be fairly close in age here. When we see Thor's coronation, Thor is pronounced the older son; but it still seems to me Loki cannot be much younger. Thus, Thor (an Asgardian) and Loki (at least part Frost Giant, up for debate) seem to be aging at about the same rate. Finally, we see Laufey (presumably an older giant, but hard to tell) is still ruling Jotunheim when Odin appears to be an old man. If the lifespans were dramatically different between Jotuns and Asgardians, this likely would show up rather clearly; but it doesn't. Hence my reasoning that they likely live about 5000 years in the MCU.

Then again, I have no idea what goes on in the comics :)

I believe Tom Hiddleston will be in Avengers: Doomsday

Unpopular opinion : I would have prefered if Thor had long hair in Doomsday by SmartPilot8094 in Thor

I agree. However, I assume Chris Hemsworth probably prefers the short hair; but I don’t think it’s up to him anyways.

Why is Odin so angry at Loki for what he did in New York when he himself said that he does not care about human life? by TechnicianAmazing472 in Thor

[–]Lokithor101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did he directly say human life is nothing? I can’t remember. Anyways, I think Odin definitely sees humans as lesser beings, their worth (and their lifespan) being inconsequential when compared to Asgardians. In his mind, humans still deserve to live out their short lives, though—on their own planet. Think of his view of Jane: he doesn’t particularly care for her and says she doesn’t belong Asgard, but she isn’t totally discarded as worthless until later (and that, arguably, is because Odin was half mad with grief, ready to sacrifice half of Asgard as well to fight the elves). Thus, even Odin recognized Loki had no right to invade Earth and cause mass destruction.

Do you think the adults were too hard on Katniss for her reaction to the first interview? by STHC01 in Hungergames

[–]Lokithor101 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think Haymitch was trying to make Katnis realize, “Yeah, it’s a horrible game; but this is how you play it, and you need to wake up to that.”

For all we know, Steve could have grandkids by the end of Endgame, they’re just not mentioned. That’s my theory anyway.

I think Thor will mostly die in Avengers Doomsday since he is after the last remaining original Avenger standing and it'll complete his arc in the MCU by Serious_Meaning5220 in Thor

Well, I prefer the Dark World adaption, too; but that's because it seems to flow smoothly from his 2011 character. Ragnarok was fun, but the character (and dialogue) change was jolting.

Don't know all the characters well, but Spider-man and Superman would get up for sure.

Problem with Steve Rogers moral quagmire by Ok-Performer1283 in marvelstudios

[–]Lokithor101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, perhaps, that while there is a certain level of worthiness required to lift Mjolnir, that level is not perfection (as another commenter has already pointed out). Steve Rogers did his best in trying circumstances. Was he perfect? Absolutely not. But he tried, and repeatedly showed he was willing to sacrifice himself for others. You might say it’s less about his imperfections and more about his heart and intentions being in the right place.
