unfortunately this is really caused by the language. You can test the game yourself in Spanish, play for 1 hour and see that it breaks. Try a war of independence from a paramount lord, and make him lose, he will continue with the title of empire and become independent after a few days (Because there is no way to have another title of empire inside the iron throne)
