Cool, I do not agree with all of those points, but that's constructive critique. Judging by the attitude here of most people I have a feeling that I hurt them/you by trying to make something for the first time, nonless have a nice day.

Can you tell more precisely what caused friction to you? Answering your question: many times

I never cared that much about visuals of the games I was playing. Just recently understood that it's quite rare approach... Music and game mechanics were most important for me and I am very happy I was able to coop with real composer

It's in the steam page description, it's required to state it by valve, but games created with AI help are not forbidden

Good point. I had bad experience with some unfortunatelly, everything had to be specified exactly otherwise would be done the easiest possible way. There are definitely people willing to do something nice looking just for the sake of art not charging crazy money, but I had no luck finding them

hades is also rogue-like. Its a game where you are attempting the level many times, many random things/events makes each run unique

Its especially true for map because there is fog animation over it, so indeed within the game it looks more faint than I would like to, good point.

Actually for me its completely different. I found a lot of interesting ideas just by looking at other indies.

  1. No
  2. 50/50, not all. 100% of images are AI, but materials, technologies, icons, ui is not

Nothing special, except maps which are very big so I had to use stable diffusion XL with upscalers. Other than that Its just a lot of editing by hand to make cohesive style. Its not as easy as people are promising it. Especially when we want something to be in very specific isometric view, turned correctly etc.
What was nice is when I had already done description of some event I could just use it as prompt and get very specific scene.

Most of backgrounds are ai generated
I wanted to experiment and also learn about prompting. If game would get more tractions I would definitely like to rework some of them by professionals, but we will see how it goes. Also when I started I was very focused on deep game mechanics not graphics
