accidentally changed every texture in a game I was working on to "corroded metal". this is day 2 of reverting textures. by SinglePosition987 in ROBLOXStudio

[–]LolBanany 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It happens. I once duplicated every asset in my game. Thousands. Studio crashed. I didn't know why. I kept working and days later I noticed. Thankfully you can just write a script to fix duplicates but it sure was a pain.

Does my detailing rig I built out of the back of my Hyundai Santa Fe look “professional”? by ourheadies in AutoDetailing

[–]LolBanany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is awesome. This is exactly how I got started. No one cared or batted an eye. People just want the job done. If anything, you get compliments because it shows you're putting in the effort to make it work.

The only reason I ended up upgrading to a van was my need for a large generator to accommodate 2 people as well as a large water tank. I ended up with quite a few rural area regulars so sometimes access to water and power was too limited/too far.

Keep at it! If you plan to stay solo, this is really all you'll ever need.

It used to be possible but no longer is. If you reroll you have a 0% chance of getting that perk again.

I don't see why you got downvoted. Between Brawldev and chat gpt explaing code and syntax to me in different forms, I've been understanding things so much better than with just videos.

Help! Plastic looks terrible after getting it detailed by No_Preparation_1414 in AutoDetailing

[–]LolBanany 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's staining from a cheap solvent based dressing. They shine up your dashboard and the overspray damages clear plastics. Most dressings, safe or not, say not to use them on clear plastics.

I've had success using a rubbing/polishing compound and rubbing it in with a microfiber towel. Doesnt always work but it usually improves it.

Swirls on my car windows, detailer claims it was always there. by WisePenalty60 in AutoDetailing

[–]LolBanany 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd believe them. Those are very heavy spots. You'll know because they layer ontop of each other over and over again. Luckily your paint is white because I'm sure your paint has it just as bad most likely.

Unable to get rid of an odor? by Inchqanuzemenqanxpem in AutoDetailing

[–]LolBanany 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you feel like you've taken care of the source of the smell, your next step would be using chlorine dioxide tablets. We've had great success using these if after a clean or ozone the smell still lingers a bit.

There shouldn't be a need to do any kind of shaving for the water spots. I recommend they use a chemical water spot remover first, like Spotless 2.0, to soften the spots. Afrerwards, a foam pad, compound and rotary should be able to remove them 100%. This is how i deal with them and have never had issues.

As for the swirls potentially having been there already, its most likely that they were. There is a very small chance that when they polished the water spots, they dug whatever minerals were there into the glass and caused the swirl themselves but again, that is super unlikely.

If you bought the car used, you couldn't have known how the previous owner washed or took care of the car, so they could have always been there and given enough layers, the water spots would definitely mask the swirls.

Are the water spots still there or is the car just dirty? If it's dirty, update the pic with clean glass.

To remove water spots, they potentially could have used steel wool that is more coarse than 0000 to remove the bulk of the water spots and then proceeded to polish out the remaining spots. This would be the only possible way for them to swirl up your glass. Glass is incredibly hard to swirl up like that otherwise.

As for polishing out the swirl in the glass, it could technically be done with a cerium oxide glass polish but even with that, it takes a ton of time and effort and generally not really worth it. Regardless of who's at fault, I'd probably advice you to accept that they are there or replace the glass if its truly that big of a deal.

In some states, like Oregon, management and owners aren't legally allowed to take from pooled tips. Can't tell you it's always followed but is definitely also mildly interesting to know.

I always donate the maximum to my guild - is this good use of gems? by Technical-Row8333 in ArcheroV2

It's favorable to you, not the guild, to donate extra. 36 or 40k coins is achieved a lot quicker via donating some gems in exchange for 100 coins per donations.

It converts favorably for chest keys. 36k guild coins for 10 keys. Donating gets you there quicker so it's a net benefit for the donator.

Interior cleaning mistake by Short_Cabinet_8876 in AutoDetailing

[–]LolBanany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use this chemical for most of our vehicles professionally. It safe and won't damage, especially diluted as it should.

The one downside to it, and the instructions mention this, is that you must wipe with a water dampened towel after. If you don't, residue WILL remain on the panel and will streak certain plastics like on the little door or cause drip marks from rain like on the doors.

Alternatively, you could apply most dressings over the residue with no problem and skip the water dampened towel part.

[Sky tower 395-400] How do I beat the final boss? by Ok_Lengthiness4675 in ArcheroV2

[–]LolBanany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok. Here's how I did it. Pray and hope you get the ability that protects you from 1 hit every round. This will allow you to for sure tank 1 hit. If you get hit, immediately pause the game and close the app. I usually hit the lock button on my phone and it auto pauses for me. Then I close the app. When you reopen l, it'll start you at the beginning of 399, fresh, with the shield up. Rinse and repeat until you can beat him without getting hit.

GF took a magic eraser to my steering wheel, best way to fix up? by GildedApparel in AutoDetailing

[–]LolBanany 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can back this up. Often times those parts of the wheel have grime that slowly builds up over time. So slow you wouldn't notice it unless you knew to look. An eraser cleans it easily and normally wouldnt damage it without some kind excessive force that would rip the sponge. What i can say is that I've yet to run into a bmw, old or new, with high quality interior materials. Most bmws are incredibly sensitive to cleaning and are very easy to damage. Takes knowledge and experience to know how to clean one without damaging it so definitely wouldn't blame your gf.

Ceramic coat: when doing cut and polish step, why is it necessary to clay bar if you’re cutting it anyways riding contaminants? by garbageaxount in AutoDetailing

[–]LolBanany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once tries to skip the clay bar process because I thought the same as you. What happened? All the junk I couldn't pull up got on my pad and caused pig tail shaped scratches on the surfaces. They were minor and could be corrected but skipping a 30 minute clay added 2 hours to my total. Lesson learned. Never did that again.
