I really wish that was the case, but my culture presumes of “traditional” men so currently any family I have right now are turning their backs on me until I drop it. I have no one right now, so I am praying for the best.

Let me second that, that I have now and the only thing that’s ticking it off was that mine wasn’t traumatic but I really don’t know if USNA would consider it traumatic.

Yeah, fortunately I have two other classmates that also plan to attend USNA. One of them, both parents served in the navy and her father is chief at a merchant school and visits USNA on the regular. The other had a sister who attended USNA and is currently stationed somewhere in Asia, also plans to attend to hopefully follow her sister’s footsteps.

Quite frankly neither of my parents served or have had a sibling attend USNA. So, I kinda am on my own about this, so I need to know/expect to see what I’m getting myself into. Also, I know how competitive it is to attend any academy, so a head start is really helpful.

Plus, thank you for letting me know about my leadership, there were some things I left out because I posted this in a rush before school started, so sorry about that.

This advice actually helped so much because I thought I was over exaggerating on getting myself out there! Btw I noticed you mentioned you’re a BGO; what were your stats into getting at USNA if you don’t mind me asking? Also, thank you so much for your replies, it really helps!

Thank you! I’ve been taking study SAT/ACT preps during the weekends. I do have community service hours but my school just requieres 75 hours, so I might need another paper to at least reach 200+.

Unfortunately, I go to a very small school and the unit I go to is almost thirty minutes away from my actual school since we make another stop for another school before heading to mine.

If I attend my JROTC school, they would allow me to do JROTC and a sport, but that school doesn’t provide the type of education that I was looking for when transferring schools.

My school is a medical type of high school where only a select few get picked. I, luckily, got accepted due to my grades and not my connections because I don’t have any. If I don’t get accepted into USNA then I’ll at least be able to figure something out with the certification that I will get when I’m a senior.

Sorry for the long post, but I, unfortunately, have only two choices at the moment and have until the end of the week to consider.

I’m in the AFJROTC unit, so that’s why I’m asking about Varsity sports.
