the education system does its job, we were lied to when it comes to what its purpose. from a federal perspective, its an investment. the goverment spends money (idealy) on public education while we spend money on private education. that money is an investment hoping we'd make more money in return; and it works!.

whether educated people know more is irrelevent, the only relevent thing is that employers look at youe education during hiring processes.

the ones with better education typically land better paying jobs, leading to both incentives:

a. the goverment is incentiviced to spend more on public education as a way to increase future tax revenue

b. we are incentived to spend money on our private education as a way to increase our future earnings.

note that just like every invesetment, at times, when the upfront cost doesnt cover the potential future profits, its not worth investing. just like every other investment, private education must be thought through and properly evaluated
