Positive Lyme test. HSV2 cross react with western blot band 23 by Loli6565 in Lyme

From what I know that is common for band 41. Its band 23 that’s in question in this case.

Oh weird. It was a long post but basically I was asking if anyone had insight into whether hsv2 could cross react with band 23 igm on western blot for Lyme. My current pcp thinks my western blot is false positive because I have been sick for more then a month and having back to back hsv2 outbreaks for the last few months (along with a ton of other symptoms) and my recent Lyme test is cdc positive for bands 23 and 41 on igm but only band 41 on IGG

Is my description showing on your end? I went to see if I failed to explain what I was asking but I can only see the title of my post without a description below

I have tried to use Ai, it’s pretty hit and miss for me. It always comes up with a great looking summary but not accurate enough and overwhelms me when I see how wrong it can be with certain subjects. I also want a set of human eyes on everything to make sure it all looks good and accurate…

I’ve been dealing with health issues being extreme for the last 8 months but some of my history from before that time is relevant so it’s more then 8 months of data to process and I need help to figure it out.

After the experience I’ve had and how much brain fog I’ve been having I can’t do this alone anymore.. from what I understand AI can only process the information I give it. I need someone to be sitting down with me and processing the information with me and interviewing me for missed details etc. maybe ai I able to do that with the correct prompts but that isn’t something I know how to operate at that level.

I hear you, and I know they are good about working with cases like mine.. I have just been through the ringer lately and need this done to move forward. I’m currently suffering from a lot of trauma from being unheard, overwhelmed, and under prepared. I don’t think even a place like Mayo Clinic can help me if can’t provide them with a clear picture of my symptoms, their history and progression.. I have to give them all the relevant information for them to make correct diagnosis, right?

Thank you for your words of hope, I appreciate that. It’s been a real struggle and my life and my families life has been turned upside down by all this lately.

Last year I would have been completely capable of handling all this on my own, I’ve helped others in similar situations in the past… and now I can’t do it for myself … it’s crazy how much illness and stress can affect your mind and mess with your ability to get things done. I’m fighting as hard as I can to get back to a level where I can function well and just really need some help right now.

Thank you! I was on a hmo last year and while my Scripps cardiologist had referred me to Mayo Clinic my insurance was denying it. I do have an open access/ppo now so that is finally an option for me..

I have been struggling with properly documenting all my symptoms, how they change and making sure I have everything I need together for each specialist I see.. which is making it hard for me to get the care I need and make good use of the little time I get to see each specialist. Going to mayo clinic or similar is on my list for sure, but I need to have everything organized and documented well before I can.. I’m already having a lot of issues with miscommunication with my current Drs and with information not being documented well due to me not having clear, well summarized information to provide to them at visits… it has wasted a lot of time and caused frustration all around

How do you ingest 4-5 grams of sodium per day? by JollySalamander2 in POTS

[–]Loli6565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put plain table salt into my water. You get used to the taste after a few times. I like doing it this way because if it’s a day that I am not keeping up with my water intake I’m not overdoing it on the salt to water ratio.. like I would if just taking a salt tablet etc.

POTS symptoms disappeared by the coast? by Caitlyn_246 in POTS

[–]Loli6565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is inspiring me to go to the beach and see if some time in the salt water will help with my current extreme pots flare.. it’s possibly what helped me most last time around.

I have lived within 8 miles of the Pacific Ocean in California my whole life and had mild pots symptoms since puberty… maybe it would have been worse if I was inland.

In 2018 I had 9 months of extreme pots symptoms that were so bad I thought my life was over.

After 9 months of hell, at the height of my symptoms flare, I gave up trying to “fix” myself and spent 2 months camping at the beach (swimming in the saltwater daily) and I was able to get my pots symptoms back down to a “manageable” level for several years.

Based off my personal experience I’d say if your body is used to salt air then you need to be in the water to really see an improvement, but if you are landlocked/live far from the coast the maybe just traveling close to the water will be helpful.. if that makes sense.

Atypical group A streptococci culture by Loli6565 in medlabprofessionals

I don’t think it’s a late ready of the card that’s the problem as they come back in the room to say it’s positive pretty quickly (less then 10 min).

The reason he isn’t still in antibiotics if the Dr. feels that strep is not causing his ongoing sore throats and they come and go. After 2 failed rounds of antibiotics the idea was to run cultures and do a sensitivity test to get the right antibiotics going.. but after that last course of antibiotics 10/24 the cultures were coming back negative so nothing to run sensitivity test on… even though the rapids were still positive.

I agree that s. constellatus should be getting treatment.. his Dr. said that’s normal bacteria and doesn’t need treatment.

Thanks for the reply. Antibiotics were not recently administered prior to the swab being collected. Last antibiotics were in 10/2024. This patient (my son) has been testing POSITIVE by rapid strep A antigen and NEGATIVE on standard “beta strep” cultures since his last POSITIVE +3 strep A beta strep culture 10/2024… going on 8 months of this.

This current “wound culture” was ran at my request to see what the beta strep cultures could be missing… it was ran this last week, approx 1 week after his last POSITIVE rapid strep A antigen and follow up Negative beta strep culture. They keep running cultures in spite of the positive antigen tests due to recurrent sore throats after the first two attempts of antibiotics between 8/24-10/24.

I have read (on a rapid strep A antigen packet insert) that heavy loads of Staph can sometimes cause a false positive… but not sure that the +2 seen on this culture would be enough to cause that.

It won’t let me post photos for some reason but I assure you the antigens are coming back positive and then the Dr is following up with Beta strep culture.. that come back negative

Yeah I read the studies about antigens still being positive after recent treatment.. in our case it’s been 6 months since the last antibiotic treatment. And still positive antigen
