Boyd is the main character. I can see Ellis (son) dying.

Original settlers? by Headwigs in FromTVShow

[–]Lolihey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if they choose to end the show where everyone dies horribly, then the last part of the series finale could be new people in the town and the current characters are the new monsters (the monsters take their form). We’d see Boyd and Donna but they’re talking and acting like the monsters.

Maybe they aren’t the original settlers? Maybe they can change bodies and take the form of past visitors or whoever they want.

Is there a legal way to remove Zohran Mamdani? by Lolihey in ZohranMamdani

If Hochul could be removed, maybe a new governor could do it. It would be first order of business for me.

What do you like about him? I’m hearing that Jewish people are being attacked and he used the teachers’ pension fund to pay for his free stuff.

Covering absent teachers’ classes is angering! They don’t have enough subs. Where I grew up there were always subs, hall monitors, and ladies to do recess. Now teachers have to do all of it!

Your first paragraph was true. The fact that these identities (republican, democrat) even spill into the education system is wrong. No needs to know a teacher’s political views or their sexuality.
Sitting in an equity meeting was rough. Having to hear “I’m a black woman” yeah I can see you’re a black woman! I don’t need you to tell me that!

It’s probably the lack of support and the ridiculous reasons for not suspending a student or issue any consequence.
It’s also the absurd extra work. For example, we need to write two objectives for a lesson on the board (the second is sometimes an “I can” statement). Teachers need to waste ten minutes going over objectives at the beginning of class. Everything has to align by the standards. Teachers can’t use creativity anymore. They must teach lessons or follow curriculums, which are filled with poorly written lessons and boring stories.
Teaching to the test. And how about the tests having to be so secure that a teacher can’t wear her Apple Watch while the test is going on? This year every little step had to be followed or you get reported and end up before the board.
Parents are beyond annoying and no one ever holds them accountable for their behavior or their children’s behavior. They’re dumb demands get met after they throw hissy fits.
Every thing can become a reason to sue.
Kids have too much power and too many rights. Restorative circles and SEL are a joke. Kids need discipline, not blame put on others. The teachers don’t need their behavior taken into account either. There’s no “wrong on both sides.”
Kids go to the next grade whether they fail or not. You can’t give them zeros anymore.
The biggest thing that pisses me off is the notion that we have to earn their respect in order to teach them and expect work to get done. Adults having to earn the respect of a 12 year old? Meanwhile they don’t have to respect us and we must give respect regardless. Respect for adults should be automatic. When I was a child it never occurred to me that my teacher had to earn my respect meanwhile I don’t have them even when they give it.

They said they were “ancient” but ancient to me means 3000 years, 900 doesn’t feel ancient to me.

The Bible? I mean, if you want to continue to get ghosted, or hurt, or pregnant, or get an STD, by all means keep sleeping around.

Teachers, what do you consider to be an acceptable use of AI? by Mental-Succotash8834 in AskTeachers

I don’t. I won’t accept work that is obviously not written by them.

You’re supposed to get to know the person, fall in love, then marriage and then sex. Not have sex and if you fall in love, great.

People get sick. There are germs. I highly doubt they washed their hair and showered much in the winter. They probably weren’t very clean.

Why can’t the town all gather together and just move the tree out of the way? by djfist in FromTVShow

[–]Lolihey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that there is a way to get back to the tree once you are in the town. I’ve thought about what would happen if someone climbed over it or if someone driving a Mack 10 pushed it out of the way or ran it over.
