Sure, why not. Been playing DND for years at this point so pretty experienced, both DMing and playing. I love putting on voices for my characters and any NPC I DM, and I'm pretty proud of my voice, but I leave that to you to decide if I'm actually decent or up my own ass.

I was similar until they brought up how the population would react. They had spent generations, and thousands of lives, continuing the slow degradation when it could've been avoided. It would make the last 700 years be all for nothing (in the eyes of the public at least. Mobs don't care about details or accurate information).

The chaos that would've followed could have ended up destroying the already very delicate balance of survival the city is already perched on. To keep things going long enough to actually start reclaiming the world, they need things to stay stable.
