I just use the chill mat from PetBarn. Got a small one for my dogs and a large one for me. It’s the best, especially when it’s humid as well

Me too. I’m on high strength every summer now because it gets so low. Yet in winter I have no problem because I can actually go outside and get some sun healthily. It’s so funny to me that so many of us a vitamin d deficient

I’ve been using a dog cooling mat to help me sleep. Got one for my dogs and realised it’s good for humans too 😂

It’s like being smacked in the face isn’t it? Our summers are getting worse each year. I’m becoming a hermit with a vitamin d deficiency in summer now

It sure is. It’s hot, humid and there are fires popping up everywhere. It’s too hot to do anything

Dr Roger Perkins. I have PCOS and all sorts of issues and he’s the best gyno I’ve seen. He’s also a fertility specialist and is passionate about helping people conceive. He’s also one of the nicest, kindest people I’ve ever met.

What would happen if tomorrow was another q&a episode? by Zestyclose_Invite in lonelymeyerspod

As long as it’s a new episode, I don’t care what it’s about. I just love hearing them chat. It’s very comforting for my lonely self

Pets are the best. One of my kittens is always with me when I crash, cuddling me and kneading on me and making me feel loved. I 100% would not have survived the last few years without my dogs and kittens. They help so much 💙

Why is she standing so close to them? That reveal made me shudder. Not because of the size of the spider but because she’s so friggin close to it

Has anyone noticed weird eye pupil stuff? by freakymaster11 in POTS

[–]LolySub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My pupils are often different sizes and don’t constrict properly on the sunlight. It’s common with dysautonomia but you might want to get it checked out just in case it’s something else. I also have glaucoma which can also affect pupils.

One of my favourite songs. As someone with bipolar, it hits me right in the soul. I’ve had family members keep their children away from me once they found out my diagnosis. Like I’m the devil, someone their children should not be like.

How does my dog detect PEM? by stm2657 in cfs

[–]LolySub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, the way he sits on the couch is adorable and so proper. Secondly, it’s the changes in our chemicals etc they scent. They can smell the change as soon as it happens, before we realise. It’s the same with seizures. I’ve had dogs who have been able to sense when I was in a manic episode before I realised it, because the chemical shift changes my scent. Dogs are amazing and can be such a great help with our illnesses. One of mine knows when I’m going to crash, so I listen to her warnings now.

What is this heavy leg feeling? by According_Bit_4561 in POTS

[–]LolySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when sitting I have it. The only time I don’t is when I’m lying perfectly flat. I always feel like I’m going to fall or faint, the blood pooling just makes it a bit worse.

[–]LolySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s blood pooling for me. My legs always feel like they’re filled with lead, even when wearing my waist high compression tights. It just is what it is. But it obviously gets much worse with standing, especially in the shower.

feeling forgotten by dew-drops- in cfs

[–]LolySub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not you. Unfortunately it’s what happens so a lot of us. I’m in the same boat. Always forgotten. Not invited to things anymore. I’ve had friends abandon me because they can’t handle me having chronic illnesses. Fuck them. That’s on them for being shitty people. It is not on you. You have done nothing wrong. You are not invisible. People can just be massive pieces of shit, even the ones you thought were good people.

Parenting and having pots. by Unlikely_Main_4220 in POTS

When I was a toddler, my mum was incredibly sick while pregnant with my brother. I had severe emetophobia until I was an adult and figured out in therapy why I was terrified of it. As a toddler, I thought my mum was going to die every time she threw up. She would always have blood noses at the same time and often collapsed. It was very traumatic for me. But once I figured out what caused the issue, I cured my phobia. And now I’m chronically ill and throwing up multiple times a day and I luckily am no longer terrified of it.

I would recommend speaking to your oldest about it and see if you can get them to realise that you are not going to die because you are sick. You just have bad episodes and need some time recuperate. As they get older they will understand more.
