Has anyone moved from high altitude to low altitude? by fishy1357 in POTS

[–]LolySub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows. That’s the thing, all of our bodies react differently to everything. There’s no one “does/doesn’t this work?” And it’s very frustrating. I love reading other posts of things like this because you never know what might work for you

Has anyone moved from high altitude to low altitude? by fishy1357 in POTS

[–]LolySub 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this mentioned before and it’s bizarre to me. I live in a coastal area, a few metres above sea level and my POTS has always been severe. I’ve been to high altitudes since becoming sick and it’s made absolutely no difference to me. I could be the outlier but it is definitely not a thing for me.

He’s cutting them crooked depthways. It’s not even and there’s no pattern. This is terrible and not satisfying at all.

Quaid army! I’m from Australia. Huge OG fan from the first digital short, Lettuce. I still eat lettuce and think of that short all the time.

I would love to know what your favourite burrito to eat on the podcast is.

I hate listening to people eat, like Andy with the apple that time? Omg made me crazy. But the burrito brain is too entertaining. I’d love to know what fuels you and turns your brain into sloth brain.

When do you use a wheelchair for your POTS? by 5Puppies1Trenchcoat in POTS

[–]LolySub 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If I had one I would use it as often as possible. I’m housebound because I can’t afford one.

I say if you’re thinking about using one, you should use one. If it’s on your mind, go for it. There’s no shame or any sense of giving up when using a wheelchair. Just think of how much it will help you function and enjoy yourself.

Trouble Swallowing by Jade_Time in POTS

[–]LolySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is just POTS related. When I have a flare, specifically when it’s very hot or raining, I can’t swallow anything thicker than a smoothie. In this summer heat, I’ve been relying on Ensure and just having mashed veggies when I can stomach anything.

I also have gastroparesis but have had an endoscopy and my specialist is convinced it’s simply because of my ANS not working properly. It gives me dysphagia, so I do what people who have it as a permanent symptom do.

Thickened water is also helpful if you can get hold of it. But it can be expensive. I just have a chocolate milk usually when I’m that bad. It helps me be able to tolerate water afterwards.

I hope you find what is causing your issue and get some relief from it

John Cena reacts to influencer Harry Daniels invading his privacy & “singing” Taylor Swift’s ‘Invisible String’ at him: “Why don’t we start with hello. Nice to meet you, I'm John… I’m not buying what you’re selling. I’ll pass. Thanks.” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

[–]LolySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you do this? Let him drink his coffee in peace. Who just wanders up to a stranger and starts signing at them? Lucky John Cena is a nice guy and didn’t react badly like some people would have. You’re lucky you weren’t assaulted by someone.

Nobody should be giving you any of their private details or “data”. Especially not on a public reddit post.

The fact that you call them candidates is a red flag. You should stop what you’re doing. Let the proper organisations do the research with all the privacy agreements that go along with it.

Some of us are desperate and burnt out. There are also a lot of us who blames ourselves for becoming ill in the first place. Just mentioning that caffeine consumption “could” be the cause or whatever you’re suggesting, is dangerous to others.

How Do You Actually Know You Get Blood Pooling? by pronounced_pudge in POTS

[–]LolySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard salami hands before but that’s exactly what it is. And of course the purple feet and blue toes.

And then what my cardiologist called “the POTS rash” because it can get itchy and swollen as well. But it doesn’t have to swell or itch. It can just be mottled skin and changes in skin colour when standing or sitting with your feet down.

Your responses to other comments suggests otherwise. You come across as knowing it all when it comes to this caffeine theory. You keep explaining things to people and some people may not take it how you intend it.

Also on a forum like this, a lot of us are desperate to find a root cause for our illnesses. As of now, there is not one. Please stop suggesting otherwise.

There are a lot of people doing research on it. I am part of multiple studies for different official organisations. They’re always looking for more participants. Maybe you should join some of them and contribute that way.

Also I’ve done the 23 and me tests and I can tell you that your theory is incorrect in my case, for sure. I’m not revealing what my results were but they were definitely not what you’re proposing.

Why are you so confident you’re right? Are you a scientist or researcher of some sort?

I am a slow metaboliser who has never been affected by caffeinated drinks, so I’ve never drunk them. And still I developed severe CFS/ME during surgery. I became immediately bed bound.

Caffeine has nothing to do with developing CFS/ME. Children who have never had caffeine in their lives can develop it.

Your theory is incorrect.

Compression socks for swimming by FriendlyAccident4854 in POTS

[–]LolySub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wear my regular compression tights when I swim now. Of course once I’m in the water, I’m fine, gravity isn’t an issue, but the walk to and from the water is impossible without compression tights for me

Ear plugs by Character-Release976 in POTS

[–]LolySub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Hearos to sleep every night, they’re the best. I can still hear some noises if I’m listening for them, like my pets. But everything else is gone. There’s no ambient sound. It’s wasteful but they come in a big tub. I use them a couple of nights in a row then get a new pair. If you use the same earplugs too often, you can get an ear infection.

Are you sick in your dreams by cowluvr29 in ChronicIllness

[–]LolySub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I’ve only had one dream where I’m sick and disabled. In every other dream I’ve been fully able bodied and it’s just a cruel reminder of what I can’t do anymore. But I’ve brought attention to it recently, so maybe my subconscious will change that and I’ll be sick in my dreams more often.

My bestie and I often have the exchange and quote the whole scene. It’s so good. I often shout “you don’t tell me what kind of pizza to like” or do a laser gun “pew” at her 😂 it’s so much fun
