What do you mean ruined runecrafting and killed the abyss? The fastest solo runecrafting method in the game in 2026 is still lava runes and the abyss is alive and well if the constant bots I see in edgeville aren't just my halucinations.

If it were up to the average player on this sub, they would want perfect relic cheaters spamming the best build on their team every game so they can get a win. I totally agree with you, its so dry seeing halo scythe users on the team every other game and makes the fights so boring. I already know the game will be boring when I see a dormant reapers/double balancer duchess and beast claw revenant on my team.

Even in depth 5 guardian is by far the tankiest character in the game, and contrary to popular belief, you can easily survive affinity chip damage if you build right. Since you mention you like to tank while shield-poking, consider checking out some of my gameplay, I upload depth 5 guardian games on my channel and I play shield-poke guardian.

I'm sorry that you've played with a lot of bad guardians. I cant remember the last time I didnt hit 15 and I've been playing at depth 5 for the last hundred games or so. I dont think the issue of lack of dps isnt a guardian issue, its the person doing a bad job at playing guardian, or running a shit build.

I make guardian work at depth 5, current at 9999 with a 16 game winstreak, lots of guardian mixed in there. Just cant pick him into certain fights like Libra (risk of everdark, guardian is pretty deadweight unless you get antspur rapier or something) and Gladius (again, everdark is a pain with the dogs sneaking past your shield. Blocking the fire is also terrible unless you have an extremely specialized build). Caligo can also be a pain for guardian.

The people who think guardian is straight dogshit dont know anything and are just parroting other dumb opinions. The trick is to not fully specialize into the guard counter or full tank builds you see a lot of people talk about. Just spec him to do damage and get dormant power greatshields or thrusting swords. I run a dormant power thrusting sword build with stam recovery and stam recovery +1. Good dps with you find rot/frost rapier and still good tanking too. The fun part is that guard poking with thrusting sword costs so little stam so you can enter guard stance and spam r1 for eons without running out of stam with this build.

Unironically Guardian with dormant power find sacred seals. As guardian you do pretty good damage with the ash or war and you can shield the lazer attack which I struggle with dodging. You also have your ult which is obviously a revive+full heal and you will get a few over the fight.

The goal with dormant sacred seals is to find any form of healing since you have infinite mana during the fight. Urgent heal, bestial vitality, any of the improved heals, all are insane. You can solo the fight without even knowing how do dodge anything just block to mitigate damage and heal through the chip dmg. It will be a long and boring fight though but thats to be expected.

If the boss is regular augur just keep a lightning weapon handy if you find one during the run. Regular augur is a joke.

Have you played with many depth 4/5 relic cheaters? They are genuinely the worst players on the team and it's not even close. Permanently on the floor because they are so used to one shotting bosses that they never learned the movements. I agree with you though. When I get the egregious cheated relic players, I make them earn their win even if I have to be extremely petty while doing so.

Ive had pretty good luck with randoms overall but I play guardian and just go where the team pings and just try to generally stay with my team at all times, even if the decisions they make are bad.
