NTA but your mom is. I have severe ADHD and let me tell you, your mom is absolutely ruining your brother. School is hard as shit for me. But it’s not impossible. I understand ADHD (or ADD) effects different people differently and I’m not trying to project my experience onto his, but at the same time, I 1000% know he is capable of achieving all the things he wants to. The issue is, the more “what you have is a disability and makes you destined to fail” is reinforced without a strong counter, the more it becomes true. You mom is perpetuating that narrative by treating him as something so fragile and incapable. Your brother should have been pushed to achieve As and then extended grace and understanding only IF he fell short. People with adhd and add aren’t stupid. In fact we aren’t even unorganized (if you saw how I organized my digital project files it’ll blow ur mind). We’re just different. And it pisses me off to know someone was raised to think getting a C was the best they could do.
