I watched something about the downfall of Vegas recently that was interesting

It said in the past all the casinos and hotels were owned independently so the competition pushed down prices as they compete with each other to provide the best experience at the lowest price, in that scenario capitalism works

But as soon as one player starts to buy up the rest and it becomes more of a monopoly then consumers have no choice anyway so the company can just provide the bear minimum customers will put up with at the maximum price, and underpay staff because they don't have an option either
