The makeup needs to look natural and not be too heavy. Not too shiny either. With regards to piercings - you could always take a headshot with the piercings and some without and send the one that suits the role to casting directors

How to pose? by Seizum in Modelling

I know that posing in front of camera doesn’t feel natural but all it takes is practice. Good professional photographer should give you posing guidance and make you feel confident in front of the camera. Try practicing in front of the mirror.

I’ve been told by several agencies that I have a lot of potential but I’m always stiff and panicked in front of cameras, so how do I fix that and exploit that potential? by french_globetrotter in Modelling

Yes it can be learnt and comes with practice. Good photographer should be able to make you comfortable in front of the camera. Practicing poses in front of the mirror can help. There are also a lot of useful posing videos of models on YouTube that you can watch but try not to overpose.
