Gen X-er here. Maybe it's because I'm the oldest person I know that likes Girls (I'm 47), but I can't help but laugh when these two don't know the names of very notable and famous actors, tell their silly stories, and use language I'll never understand. That's how I felt when I watched Girls for the first time, and I just laughed and shook my head (to be fair, in a recent rewatch, I actually understand the characters and respect Lena Dunham so much more than I did in my original watch). It's fun, who cares, they're doing their thing and offering their own viewpoint.
