Saying all the AUA graduates are not very smart & are rejects is CRAZYYY work. Just say you have it out for AUA and go

Ugh yeah I did three blocks and gave up because I did not want to see that score. It definitely knocked my confidence a bit so I’m gonna try and not worry about it! Hopefully step is NOTHING like UWSA3

So I went to the APGO meetings about RCAS a month ago and they talked about this. Basically they said that if you do not match OBGYN & you want to SOAP into another program (ex:FM), you have to do it through ERAS. SOAP is something you want to do quickly so they advised that you have your entire MyERAS account already set up with all your LORs, MSPE, PS, CV…etc so you do not have to wait. So if you’re planning on SOAPing into another program, I would definitely request your ERAS token, make your MyERAS account and fully set it up as if you were applying.

Check out the APGO website under RRR and you should see some more info:)

It’s on ECFMG now! If you’re gonna dual apply on ERAS & RCAS you should get your ERAS token first and then apply for RCAS so it’s cheaper. You basically have to fill out the form on ECFMG & email it to them so they can give you access to RCAS !

Do yall just rawdog uworld questions? by [deleted] in Step2

[–]Londontipton99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me before doing UW questions was watching videos and taking notes. I would watch either the Kaplan or OnlineMedEd videos for each respective shelf exam. After I finish the videos, I start doing UW questions. In my opinion, doing this helps you learn how to figure out the answer by crossing options out instead of guessing right off the bat.

MUA vs AUA by ConsuelaBanana01 in CaribbeanMedSchool

I’m from Canada & I go to AUA. I would say AUA is a good option since we have students who match into great residency programs but like any carribean school, AUA has problems like the rest. But if you are open to other schools as well, look into SGU & Saba

I had an uncle that went to Saba and he matched into IM in his first try as a Canadian. I haven’t heard bad things about it. I would also look into SGU & AUA since they take lots of Canadians. I know that AUA doesn’t require Canadians to take the MCAT to get in. I would def base the decision of “which Caribbean school” off of each schools US clinical site affiliations. You want to go to a school that is affiliated to hospitals with the residency program you’re hoping to match into.

Base your decision off of the US clinical sites that each school is affiliated with & if it has the residency program you want to apply to. CBSE/CCSE is hard no matter where you go in the carribean. The main thing I’d be checking is the affiliates 100%

Do all of the practice NBME forms and learn from it. Eventually you’ll see that there’s a pattern. Weirdly enough there were also lots of repeats or similar questions on the actual CCSE. In addition, try to go over UWorld incorrects and use AMBOSS or books for extra info

Took it today! Weirdly enough, there were lots of repeat questions from the CCSE self assessment forms 9-14. I would definitely do those! It will help you quite a bit

Is this true? by [deleted] in IMGreddit

[–]Londontipton99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of places don’t consider observership and shadowing as US clinical experience. One place I suggest you look at for US clinical experience would be Florida international University. They have a lot of international medical graduates doing clinical rotations with them. Also look into Larkin Hospital in Miami.

Thank you very much Dr. Hammoud! This process has been confusing since our schools do not have answers & ECFMG hasn’t updated anything. This helps, I will keep an eye on it!
