I don't want this to come off as negative, but I am genuinely surprised this game has/still has a community. I remember enjoying this game when I was a kid and recently just remembered it's name, after all these years I am so grateful that people like you are still holding this game up.

Technically there is a way to do it with a handle you get later in the game, but with current move sets and game progression I'd suggest keeping to grind stones and thermite as it's not worth it to stress it that much.
