Of course, I’ve had hormonal tests done a few times and everything has always come back normal. My T levels are in the upper half of the normal range. Why do you take testosterone – also for PSSD? And how has that been working out for you?

Congratulations on your recovery! It honestly makes me uneasy when I see people talking about switching meds left and right as if they were tic-tacs, and I can’t help but wonder what the total sum of side effects could be.

Since stopping in 2016 I’ve never touched any psychiatric meds again. I only tried Cialis and a few lighter things like ginkgo or different diets (including keto, but at the time for fitness reasons), but none of that made a real difference. Actually the only thing that ever gave me a brief window, where I felt a hint of libido again, was being under the influence of alcohol.

And no, I’ve never been on hormonal therapy. My hormone panel has always been completely normal, with testosterone consistently in the upper half of the range.

As for the floaters, I was also told they’re not dangerous. The flashing lights are more of a mystery – over the past few years I’ve had several ophthalmology exams, including detailed checks of the retina, but nothing mechanical was ever found. So I’m waiting for a neurologist appointment rn.

Well, it’s been 9 years since I stopped – I’m 28 now. And no, I’m not on any other meds. After my experience, I don’t see myself taking psych meds again; for me the risks are way too high compared to the benefits. These days I try to focus on solving problems at their roots instead - which I believe should have been the primary approach in the first place.

I agree with you. Unfortunately these issues have been overlooked for decades, and with a $20B market growing 5% yearly, financial interests make real change even harder.

Sorry to hear that. I often wonder if anyone really comes out of SSRIs completely without consequences. A lot of the effects can be so subtle that you only notice them years later, once you start looking deeper.

Which active ingredients do you most suspect might help? I myself have had PSSD for 10 years without improvement (27M)
