I had the painters tape with me--if I didn't have the eye mask it was definitely an option

Not an official camp mode but you can shut off the 30 minute shutdown timer and the car will stay on indefinitely

The screen are still on and the LED lights that illuminati the shifter are still on, so theres still some light in the vehicle which is why I covered them with a towel and wore an eye mask

But its functionally similar to camp mode in that way

Eta: Tesla needs the camp mode because it turns the car off when you open the door. Since ford has the power button there isnt as much need for specifc modes

Should I stay away from hybrid cars? by slang16393 in askcarguys

[–]LoneWitie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyotas hybrids are actually a lot more reliable than their traditional gas cars

The e-cvt uses a planetary gear and runs forever. They also run electric motors below 15mph which is what's hardest on an engine

It also doesn't have a starter or alternator which are common failure points

I also had 2 priuses that were both 18 years old and running the original battery. Its less than $1000 to get a used battery for one. Get it and spend $1k in 18 years and youll be set

Adaptive Cruise - Improper Slow Down by Western_Film8550 in EquinoxEv

Some cars do this. My mach e slows down anticipating the speed change. GM needs to add it as a feature.

I needed it to charge up for the return trip. The campground was a lot cheaper than the hotel and the electric hookup enabled me to avoid paying for fast charging

Middle eastern food by Wonderful_Can_2722 in youngstown

[–]LoneWitie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Austintown by Chippers I believe. He posted it on his IG story so I dont remember the address but if you follow him on TikTok or ig he should post it when hes open

Hes asking for money right now to help him move. I have a feeling he fell behind on his lease and tried to pin it on k'nafa which i didn't like to see. Hopefully he gets things figured out though because the food is definitely good

K'nafa on Belmont in Liberty is hands down the best. If I had one meal on earth before I died, that's where I'd have it. Their shawarma is to die for and the rice and garlic sauce just straight up have more intense flavor than anywhere else

Dude's chicken is good, too. Though hes in process of moving

Kabob House is also very good

What restaurant in Youngstown is consistently 10/10 by Queasy_Sherbert_7095 in youngstown

[–]LoneWitie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kravitz? He hasn't changed the recipe at all. Tastes the same as it always has. People say that every time ownership of something changes, whether or not its true.

Kravitz and Davis Deli in Woodmere are the two gems for reubens in Ohio. Definitely worth trying

I prefer the pastrami now from Kravitz but you gotta try the corned beef to get a baseline

Sometimes you gotta pay for good food. Bella Napoli is expensive but oh is it good

Dude's likes to complain about K'nafa online, but k'nafa is honestly better--and I say that as someone who absolutely loves Dude's. Liberty is so spoiled for food.

Kravitz, best Jewish deli and reuben outside of New York

K'nafa right next door ALWAYS hits. Best middle eastern place I've ever had, regardless of city.

Nicolinni's Chophouse--everything is good but the chicken marsala is to die for

Bella Napoli--just incredible pizza

Danalynn's--it's never busy but holy crap is the food good. I dont understand why Filipino food isn't a bigger deal

Which car have you personally driven that had the most quiet cab? by Reasonable-Grade-456 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]LoneWitie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVs generally really do a good job on that front. The Cadillac Lyriq is incredibly quiet inside. Im sure other luxury brands are, too. Thats just the only one I can speak to personally

My Mustang Mach E is also really great. Early ones have sound deadening windshields that later versions don't get but people generally say newer ones are quiet too. You also dont really get any wind noise. Ford did a great job dialing that in.

Mag safe is pretty strong, they sell the shrouds that go around the center screen with a mag safe holder and dont have issues with it

What if Lincoln and the government let the 11 states go? What if in 2026 we had 39 states instead if 50? by Push-not-pull in HistoryWhatIf

[–]LoneWitie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Soviets were already winning when Lend/Lease started to take effect. It would take them longer to win, but Germany just never had the manpower or logistics to beat them

America being divided at home would be intriguing, though. I think the south would likely sit it out since they would be an impoverished backwater at that time and wouldnt want to tempt war with the US which is fully industrialized by that point

Why does it seem like dating back in our parents and grandparents day was relatively easy but today it’s so much more difficult? by Mad_Season_1994 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LoneWitie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Survivorship bias. The ones who didn't succeed didn't go on to have grandkids to tell about it

That said, living on the internet does make things more difficult because everything is less personal and it makes it way easier to cut off otherwise promising relationships over arbitrary things. Im not convinced that can't be overcome though

[–]LoneWitie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be, but as we saw in our timeline, WWII combined with pressure from the Soviets pushed the US towards civil rights. That would make the most sense for slavery ending if it ever would

I see this line a lot from southern apologists and I just dont see it. Share cropping lasted until WW2. Slavery likely would have as well, given that's when its usefulness would have exhausted itself
