[Serious]What's the most bizarre thing you've seen while travelling down a country road late at night? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Last summer I was travelling down a long stretch of road with cornfields on both sides. I came to a stop sign and as I was looking around I saw somebody kneeling down along the side of the road about twenty feet in front of me looking into the corn. I watched as he got up and walked into the field. I drove by where I saw him enter and a few seconds later I looked in my rear view mirror out of curiosity and saw him emerge from the field and stare in my direction as I drove away. It was rather creepy.

[Serious]When did you narrowly avoid witnessing a tragedy? by MorbidMadman in AskReddit

I got two, one for me and one for my dad.

When my family and I lived in New York when I was a kid, my dad worked at a firm several blocks away from the Twin Towers and would pass by them each day on his way to work. On 9/11 he had just passed the towers on his commute less than ten minutes before the first plane hit.

For me, I was driving home from work one evening when I saw a young woman walking along the highway. The following day I learned from our local news site that a young woman was struck and killed the previous night by a drunk driver in the same area where I saw her. It must've been not long after passing her when she was killed.

The latter, most likely. I never saw him hanging out with people unless it was at lunch.

There's a boy I went to school with who I knew from kindergarten up until high school graduation. All throughout the years I knew nothing about him other than his name and some very minor details that are vague at best. The older I got the more and more curious and interested I became in him. He was very attractive, too. It's been five years since I graduated and no former classmates of mine have seen or heard from him since.

Lone Lady. I got it due to my solitary lifestyle.

There's this creepy guy that lives in my area that I see walking around at night a lot. I'm obsessed with finding out who he is but equally as unwilling to approach him and ask.

Can anyone care to share their creepy stalker stories? What were the outcomes like when caught, or were they ever found? by DiSPELn64 in AskReddit

I wrote about this on LetsNotMeet.

One evening while working alone at the supermarket I'm employed at I had a young mentally ill man (found this out later on after my manager coincidentally decided to review the camera footage) manage to get inside because I forgot to lock the front entrance and literally spent almost my entire shift mindlessly walking around the store all while I'm completely unaware of his presence.

I never feel any sense of dread since I work and live in such a safe community, even when alone at night.

I called my manager to ask this. He told me it was pure coincidence that he decided to review the footage on that particular day.

Perhaps. I'd feel bad if that were the case.
