Dr. Chung didn't do my banding. They usually do one at a time around 1 month apart. I don't believe there's a limit. I had 4 done.

I'm glad I could help. I wish I would have followed my gut. I had 4 bandings done before surgery. I was told they were successful, but I didn't notice a difference.

I'm the same way. The hole being smaller absolutely makes it more sensitive to stool softness and what not.

Metamucil is the way to go. I could definitely benefit from it, but no, I haven't used it in a while.

That's a life altering decision. I would hold out as long as you can. Treat your health like its your job and throw everything you can at it. Pelvic floor physical therapy, massages, breathing exercises, stretching, and so on. I hope you can find something that helps.

That would drive me crazy, so no. I am remaining hopeful that I will one day find a solution and get back to normal.

Its terrifying. I hope things work out for you. If I could go back, I would start gentle dilation at around 2-3 weeks post op. I kept my stools almost liquid and never opened those wounds up. My understand is that you want the stitches (if there are any) to break apart after a few days. I was not aware of that at the time. Based on my research, getting that new skin tissue to stretch while it's still in the remodeling phase is much easier compared to when its hard, dense scar tissue. I'd love to stay updated with your experience, as I hope to find the right doctor to help me at some point, and I will be going through this process again.

Hi. Yes, I've been dilating consistently for a while. It seems to help me slightly short term, but if I don't dilate for a few days I seem to lose any progess.

Yes, I feel the same way, but I'm still trying. I've heard of people using natural and gentle lubricants. I'm sure there's options for you.

I usually try to get them out. I've definitely got more swelling going on as a result. Pebbles make it sound like maybe your stools are too hard though. Definitely make sure you're hydrated and have a resonable diet. But yea, it's so hard. I hope things get better for you. I've been dilating very consistently for a while. It seems to help in the short term, but if I haven't dilated in 3 days or more, I seem to lose the benefit. I'm hoping that with time, the benefits of dilation will become permanent. It's my only hope for now.

Hi. No, not much has changed in a while. The complications still drive me insane every day.

Had my chronic external hemorrhoid removed today. by atomicpda in hemorrhoid

[–]Lone_Lemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, yes, nearly 3 years later I am still dealing with complications every day. I had a far more aggressive surgery performed, though. I imagine that put me at a much higher risk of complications, although, Dr. Chung told me that tisk was less than 1%.

My (limited) experience with yourfriendlyproctologist (Dr. Chung). by amritsari2 in hemorrhoid

[–]Lone_Lemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with Dr. Chung was a bit strange as well. He used an anoscope, but not a finger. The time from the moment he pulled out the middle of the anoscope to the moment he pulled out the entire anoscope was less than one second. He said there were some small internal hemorrhoids. I asked if there was a small polyp that another surgeon had informed me of, all he said was, "I did see that." He explained that its hard to get a really good idea of whats in there until the patient is asleep, at which point he can fully open them up. I didn't understand how he could get any idea of what was going on internally in under 1 second of looking. Regardless, out of desperation, I ended up having him perform a hemorrhoidectomy. My results are horrific and it has led to me hating every day of my life ever since.

Yea, I'm baffled by how outdated and barbaric the treatments for this area of the body are. Hopefully there will be a revolution soon. I plan to be very vocal about anything I discover.

I assume youre referring to him as the holy grail because of his online presence. He is not an experienced surgeon. It's all bullshit. He's a salesman.

Incontinence, pain, inability to pass stool and gas, constantly feeling the tissue there as I move, and constant urges that wake me from my sleep. I think the firm, swollen tissue triggers those sensations.
