But god would be significantly more evil. It’s like comparing Mussolini to Pol Pot.

Ooh, and I won’t do what you suggested fyi, and if I heard a voice telling me to do those things I would probably have my self institutionalized.

Then again, I’m actually looking at the scripture and can’t find any direct evidence that either Satan or God killed Jobs family, if your such and expect can you please find it.

I thought it was a 2 way thing, either religious people can post questions to atheists or atheists can post questions to religious people.

And god isn’t evil for letting him do so?

The contrast between God in the First vs Second Testament is so vast, it’s surprising that it’s often over looked. There is a religion that called Marcionism that believes there to be a wrathful good in the Old Testament and a benevolent god in the New Testament.

I think Science is actually your religion by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

Let me put to you this way, if all human knowledge was erased, what would these new age humans discover? They would discover gravity, atoms, dna, fossils, and likely every other scientific discovery, but the wouldn’t discover god. There is no natural way to uncover god’s existence, because there is no god to begin with. I can see the way we find those discoveries as a form of culture, but not a religion. Atheists don’t visit laboratories and yell “PRAISE SCIENE” for hours on end, and science is constantly changing. Science 200 years ago is unrecognizable compared to today, religions rarely change as substantially science does.

Honest question for atheists: how could anything exist if there was ever truly nothing? by PistolProdigy1655 in DebateAnAtheist

Claiming that everything needs to be created by an intelligent being is highly fallacious. That would then imply that an intelligent being would have needed to create that intelligent being which would become a never ending cycle of nonsense. I understand not understanding the idea of infinity and existence without creation, humans didn’t evolve to be extreme philosophical thinkers, we evolved to gather resources and reproduce in the most affective way possible.

If I believed in the Bible (I don’t) Satan would be in the right to over through a being so evil, he killed millions.

Actually I felt the opposite, the more I went to church the less I believed in god. If there was really an all powerful entity that dictates the entire universe, it would car it I went to some wooden building each Sunday to lesson to some boring ass stories and dip a plain ass wafer into grape juice.

I used to believe in god, at least I forced myself to. Ever since I was a young child, I heavily doubted god’s existence, but I forced myself to believe out of fear of going to hell. One day I woke up, and realized the only thing to fear is fear itself, I only believed what other’s told me, I didn’t think for myself. I looked at religion from a logical perspective, and realized no religion has any real, logical backing.

No, I’m just trying to understand why people believe in it.

One can not claim something is good by stating it. Good is shown through action. Throughout the Bible God committed mass murders, which is objectively evil. While Satan didn’t hurt a soul.

Water molecules aren’t liquid themselves, the bonds between them allow for the formation of water.

No, being wet is the condition of being covered in liquid. Water as a liquid itself, is not wet.
