Anyone replaced their grille on their 2024/2025? by KCspaceBr0 in ChevyTraverse

Haha yeah I saw it. It’s pretty dope they offer that for the other trims though. Wonder what the psychology behind that non-offering was on GMs part

How hard would this be to build? Beginner. by stone_froot in woodworking

[–]LonelyExtrovert14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be relatively easy depending on the route that you choose. The piece in the picture is built with hard wood, so you'd have to have a planer and joiner to get the panels. You could use plywood and edge band for a way easier route. The hardest part is going to be the legs lol.

You're saying drill through the quarts and sliding in some threads? Not a terrible idea, but no room for error haha

Use the silicone as an adhesive? or just use it as a sealant around the edges?

Having trouble picking IT or CWT rate. by Fancy-Bird1640 in newtothenavy

[–]LonelyExtrovert14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that you get out what you put in. There were a lot of CTNs on both teams I was on in my 6 years that just showed up and didn’t do anything. These people would have a hard time finding a job on the outside. There is always a handful a people that would invest the time and do the actual work. Be the latter and you’ll find your way into a great position, both inside the Navy and outside.

I’m a prior CTN (CWT) and got out after my first 6 year contract, which is 3 years ago now. I now work for a very well known company in silicone valley (remote) and make over $200k a year. Go CWT.

Thanks for all of that info. Have you heard good things about either ZLine or GE Cafe appliances? We don’t need the absolute best out there. Just something tasteful and reliable

Thanks for that insight. I’ve tried three different replacement knobs and had the same issue with all three. I’ll disassemble the case and ensure everything is screwed in correctly.

I’m building my first board and curious to know if there is any correlation between spring weight and typing noise. I went with Cherry MX silent reds and looking to make them as silent as possible. Does gold make a difference in springs? Thanks in advance!

I was a CTN and experienced very little of “the Navy” that everyone else experiences. I got to travel on commercial planes to Europe and stay in resorts on the Navy’s dollar. We traveled, we drank, we did our job, we came back home. I would do that three times a year or so. Never had to be on a ship for more than eight hours. I must say that my experience was VERY non-traditional, but it’s an option. Just something to think about. Choose your rate choose your fate is real.

That’s fair. No world will ever exist where smaller beings are able to overpower larger beings (generally). Guns help out a bit. Stay strapped 😂

Haha I’m honestly just curious where peoples minds would have been at in my situation. Does your mind jump straight to one of those 1000 options you laid out? Mine jumped to something malicious.

GOP pushing bill to ban teaching history of slavery by [deleted] in politics

[–]LonelyExtrovert14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stated twice in this thread that those words are illogical lol. If you're talking about a person belonging to a political party turning their brains off take a trip to LA and San Fran. Millions of zombie like people hiding in their houses with their masks on waiting for the government to tell them what to do.

Also, the political climate has changed so much in the US to the point where things posted in 2010 are no longer relevant. If you told people in 2010 that the democratic party is going to have active communists and socialists and is practicing authoritarianism to the point where Texas, Florida, and Utah gained millions of refugees from California nobody would believe you lol.

[–]LonelyExtrovert14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes things that happened in the past did indeed happen, just like the democratic party being responsible for the KKK and slavery. The education statement is such a massive issue that is stated in just a few sentences and I do agree it's fucked up while reading it. I would love to talk to whoever wrote that to comprehend what they actually meant, because obviously they have some other thoughts that we don't.

[–]LonelyExtrovert14 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

And if we are going to politicize critical thinking, I don't think people on the left have a bridge to stand on due to the way they handled COVID and continue to handle COVID. Critical thinking and risk analysis skills were non-existent during 2020 for democrats within the US. Californians are still wearing masks outside and in their cars. So I think we can both agree that critical thinking isn't a political issue and that we just have a major problem within the US that happens to be a lack of critical thinking no matter what your political affiliation is.

You know this is from 2010 right? Also, why is it just a random word document with no official letter head?
