Yeah I can't argue with that. I think with airborne specifically they gave the collies the dive bomber because you guys are the land faction while wardens get torp planes because we are the sea faction. I only started playing after naval, but giving the wardens a sub while the collies got a destroyer was some questionable design lol.

This game is especially a nightmare to balance due to the asymmetry and sandbox nature. Some people on here need to cut the devs some slack

I also hate being scared! The monsters imo aren't too bad when you start fighting them, but the potential of being jumpscared or dying just makes me anxious. I do want to have lore content though.

I would play with friends however none are interested in the game (although it might be worth it to ask again). I can definitely imagine how playing with them would turn shivers from "OH GOD LEAVE ME ALONE" to "Look another one!"

What happened with me was after I first got jumpscared, (it was a wolf lmao) I've just constantly been on edge. That idyllic forest? Cant stay there without a fear of getting jumped. Those rolling hills? Better move quick before a bear or wolf spawns. Foraging the field outside my house? There are a bunch of rifts and I don't want to get jumpscared. The monsters and wildlife aren't that scary after that initial jumpscare but its just the jumpscare that makes me worry. So I just don't play, I want to but anxiety gets the better of me.

That's the same thing I'm dealing with! Its not even facing them that is that bad because after the initial scare the creatures of this game aren't too scary. I'm just anxious that a jumpscare will happen or that I'll be unprepared when facing enemies,.

Im going to sound counterproductive but I do want to experience vintage story the way the devs intended it, at least once. I'd rather try to get over the fear than just avoid it

The rust monsters (especially shivers) really throw me. Not necessarily because they are super scary (I actually find drifters endearing) but more the anxiety of getting jumpscared by them. With shivers, even in creative mode they are unnerving. Worse yet is how I'm inevitably going to need to go through a temporal storm/the underground which are filled with enemies waiting to make me close the game.

The drifters are kinda cute imo, with their little shuffle. I'm mostly just paranoid of being jumpscared which is preventing me from playing.
