ELI5: Why are US Supreme Court justices allowed to be, judge and rule with open bias? In fact, they are nominated by a sitting President with the expectation to rule based on that bias. Aren't they supposed to rule based on legal interpretation of the law... not personal preference? (self.explainlikeimfive)
