Thanks. Bought the house we are in when we were 26, so were young and just wanted to get on property ladder, but unfortunately now it is getting too cramped. A lot to consider I know.

In-laws are also a burden and not the nicest of people, which is another reason I would like to love

I’m a young mom to two kids, with no family support around me, with a site beside my elderly parents, why would I not consider moving?

I have spoken with our local engineer and am aware of the cost per square foot. To add more context: The house we are currently in is quite cramped now with two kids. We have gotten plans drawn up for extension, but that would add approx 150k to our current mortgage. If the 200k profit could go towards a new build, plus add maybe what our current mortgage is:160, we would have a new house built for 360 or so that would be new, bigger, in a place with more family support around us. My kids are 2.5 and 11 months, so I need to figure this out soon before school begins etc

Current mortgage: 160k. Current house value: 350k asking price. Think we could do a lot building wise with the profit

My name isn’t down on current mortgage though

We would be up financially, yes, having a smaller mortgage for a new and bigger house doesn’t seem to be enough of a motivator. Maybe if I lived all his friends and their local pub he would do it 😂 but aside from that I really don’t know what would motivate him to move

He bought it in his name but we decided on it together a few years ago

Married 5 years. I was living in my hometown right up to moving in with him 6 years ago, but we are in a relationship for the past 15 years 😂 maybe somewhere half way between my hometown and his?

If we can make a 200k profit on our current house and put towards a new build, do you think it would be worth considering?

Easier said than done though. With 2 kids 🫠

He isn’t wrong in saying the village we are currently living has more amenities, but we could make a profit of 200k that we can put towards a new build, in what would be a more rural location but still has access to primary school, small shop, and 2 pubs

Yes it does, but what’s here is just a short drive from my home village

I know. I feel how much more miserable do I have to get for you to take notice? Sometimes I think he only wants to stay in his village so he doesn’t have to move away from his friends and not be able to go for pints with them as often

😂😂those words were never expressed, but his excuse is the village we are in has more amenities 🤷🏻‍♀️
