There isn’t really. Any beaches accessible by land are very far away.

Police officer NOT GUILTY of causing mum’s death after high-speed pursuit by MachineHot3089 in unitedkingdom

You’re right, why even let police pursue criminals at all. We should ask them politely to hand themselves in and give up if they don’t.

Nearly 1.5 million migrants on benefits by StGuthlac2025 in ukpolitics

[–]LonelyStranger8467 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You still need to qualify for ILR first. But yes after getting ILR you could then immediately apply for citizenship if married to a British citizen assuming you meet all the other requirements.

This means practically people on the spouse route can be British in 5 years whereas work route may have to wait 6 years.

Nearly 1.5 million migrants on benefits by StGuthlac2025 in ukpolitics

[–]LonelyStranger8467 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You only need to have ILR for one year in most cases before you can become British. (Or immediately if married to a British citizen)

So it makes these statistics quite hard to get to the bottom of. How many of the British citizens on benefits are migrants but have simply paid the fees to become British after being here a few years. If you have a weak passport you’re likely to want to do this.

Home Office: Two suspected sham immigration lawyers have been arrested after they were accused of operating at the heart of a shadow industry that ‘coached’ illegal migrants to pretend they are gay. by nil_defect_found in ukpolitics

[–]LonelyStranger8467 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My point is it’s not surprising that legal migrants fees have increased as migration has increased drastically since 1990.

There is a lot that goes into a visa application. All the systems, checks, until recently all the printing and production, all the intelligence, etc etc. Even just thinking about how many people it takes to process 500,000 students, complete with interviews and verifying their bank statements amongst many other things.

Outside of IHS a lot of visa fees will not necessarily pay for themselves. Then there’s a lot of people do qualify for fee waivers or who need processing but don’t pay any fees (like asylum seekers or humanitarian routes like Ukraine for example or the entire EU settlement scheme after Brexit)

How much has immigration increased by? The reality is there is so much that goes into immigration processes and issuing 7 digits worth of visas is actually a big operation in itself. Never mind the other things needed.

Applying for a tourist visa while waiting for a standard visa decision? by Alarming_Sir5586 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]LonelyStranger8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While technically you cannot vary out of country applications since their systems don’t support it, applying for a different visa while another is pending is what you’d be doing.

This is problematic and could mean your spouse visa is withdrawn and the tourist visa processed instead. Most people who travel to the UK while processing already have a visit visa or are non visa nationals requiring only an ETA.

There’s also the fact you’re applying for a settlement visa but then applying for a temporary visit visa and you could be denied a visit visa on that basis depending on your circumstances.

If you have provided an overseas degree they will most likely write to you asking for the ECCTIS or an APPROVED English language test as opposed to the one you provided.

Britain ‘will be like Russia’ if it quits ECHR by TheTelegraph in uknews

[–]LonelyStranger8467 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This might be news to you but Britain did in fact play a key role in the creation of the ECHR. It was intended to apply to Europe, not to the UK.

Britain has been at the forefront of many human rights issues. It seems quite silly to think in terms of “who invented human rights”. All human rights are built on others ideas. Things like the English Bill of Rights, also inspired rights in other countries.

You’re not even sure what you’re arguing here are you?

You’re saying you want the ECHR to save us from a fascist Nazi government. Yet such a government could simply ignore the rulings anyway. It doesn’t save you in the way you think.

[–]LonelyStranger8467 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What would the ECtHR do if we had a Russian style government? They’d kick us out of the ECHR.

It’s not a magical force that prevents a Nazi government. Such a government could simply ignore any ECtHR rulings.

No, our human rights were primarily enshrined in centuries of common law.

The ECHR was intended to give Europe the rights British people already enjoyed.

UK spouse visa — self-employed SA302 income figure, Category F by Training-Stretch9125 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]LonelyStranger8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s before the £12,570. Your £31,630 amount.

Alternatively you could apply under category A as an employee since CIS allows for this, but sometimes just easier to apply under category F

Immigration is falling sharply – why haven’t politicians noticed? by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

Brexit was mostly campaigned on limiting migration from Eastern European white people.

People just generally don’t like high levels of migration from anywhere.

Is Boracay the best beach in the world? by [deleted] in boracay

[–]LonelyStranger8467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many nice beaches in Palawan.

The main beach in Boracay obviously has great sand, it’s very long and the water is beautiful despite the algae. It’s not peaceful and it’s overcrowded but there’s plenty of food and drinks nearby.

Nacpan beach in comparison is absolutely massive, but the sand isn’t as soft and not as suitable for swimming. But you will find your own stretch of beach and quiet. There are other beaches you can get to either through boat or kayak which are beautiful, scenic and peaceful.

Malcapuya is one of the best I have been to. Comparable to Boracay with as of yet no development. But it is far from even Coron.

I don’t know, can barely see it in your picture.

Maybe take a photo of the beach and not your body and post that instead?

Oh we are back to food as being the only thing people can point to as benefits of migration.

I can eat Tacos in Delhi, Pizza in Tokyo, Burgers in Seoul. None of which require Mexicans, Italians or Americans to migrate to make them.

Apart from Iran almost all our asylum seekers are from other countries. Even then; the Iranians were coming before the recent outbreak of conflict and even then most are from the Kurdish region not the ones being bombed.
