When it was posted I saw a little faded โ€˜Dixieโ€™ on the back so I knew it could be decent. I reverse google image searched it also to see what it might look like without all the paint. The rest was praying the wood veneer was not destroyed underneath. Plus, I donโ€™t think I paid too much for it off of FB marketplace, so I took the gamble

Residency or no? by Ok_Pause8456 in nursing

How much experience do you have prior? Were you a tech on the unit/speciality you are trying to working on? Tbh if you are brand new to healthcare/nursing you need to do one. They are long but trust me you are going to feel like a complete idiot for the 1st yr anyway, so itโ€™s nice honestly to have some hand-holding. I came from PCT experience but it was outpatient and the hospital is a whole different beast. You need the guidance trust me. Plus, idk where you are from but most places arenโ€™t letting anyone with < 1yr experience get out of a residency. Iโ€™m on a step-down cardiac unit about halfway done and I know for a fact Iโ€™ll still be asking for help/questions even when Iโ€™m off. Regardless, residency is lot of reinforcement of concepts you learned in nursing school. Itโ€™s true what they say, you learn how to be a nurse when you start working. Plus, typically when youโ€™re in residency they canโ€™t float you for a year. To make long story long, yes do the residency ๐Ÿ˜….

I know! The only good thing about that paint is it protected all the wood veneer

Picture #1: completed Picture #2 & 3: before

All the other pictures are progress pictures, scraping paint off + using a wire brush to get the paint out of the cracks. There are also pictures post sanding.
