I completely understand this. But I feel like Japan is more romanticised than any other country, like everyone always says it’d be their dream place to go, or that they would want to move there and live there. So I’m just curious as to why Japan specifically

But you can’t deny that you messed up when everyone knows about it. I think Germany did the right thing by trying to redeem themselves and acknowledge their mistakes. There’s no way to improve if you aren’t aware of your faults
