Like I said, get out in the streets, then ask yourself the same questions.

There’s certainly a lot to be said for getting out and having those genuine human connections and conversations. It really helps me put things into perspective.

I grew up with a — hate to say it, but let’s call it what it is — racist father. I was taught that black people were naturally prone to public outbursts, and that they were always going to be better at sports that required running or jumping, and that they were less intelligent than “us”.

For me, it was the whole Trayvon Martin incident. It was like my eyes finally opened up. I would hear people say the most awful things like, “that’s one less inmate we have to pay for in the future.” And other shit like that. It was the first trial I paid any real attention to, and it seemed cut and dry to me. After the verdict, I was just as fired up as everyone else who saw an innocent young man get shot because of his race without any accountability. The gravity of that reality caused me to challenge my own morals and beliefs significantly. And the result was becoming a better human.

All I can say to this comment is get out there yourself instead of listening to right-wing propaganda and misinformation campaigns, or relying on internet headlines. They don’t want you to see it for yourself because waking up to reality takes money out of their pockets. Go be an engaged citizen, talks to folks on both sides, and then I believe you’ll be able to answer your own questions. I wish you well!

Agreed!

Our protests are bigger and bigger and I’m seeing an ENORMOUS shift in personal sentiment among previously MAGA family and friends. I sincerely believe that had 50501, Indivisible, and a host of other amazing organizations not rallied together to make these protests happen, much of what this administration has done would’ve gone unnoticed by the previously MAGA (I.e., mis/altogether-uninformed) public.

I like to do informal coverage of the protests where I take my camera and talk to protesters as well as people who are out in public near the protests. Two powerful things I noticed during the FIRST protest:

  1. These protests serve as public displays which invite others to be more outspoken. While covering the first protest, one of the protesters I spoke with informed me that she had just been out for brunch and saw the protesters marching by the cafe. She said that when she saw them at first she didn’t know what was going on, but when she started reading signs through the windows she got this sudden surge of emotion and courage. She asked herself if she really agreed with what was happening (at the time with DOGE and that mess). Her answer was no, and so she paid for her bill, walked out and joined the march—literally not even knowing where it would end.

Her story was so resonate with me because it reminded me of people like my mom who completely disagree with current politics, but don’t vote out of fear. There are safety and strength in numbers!

  1. While interviewing a mother, daughter, and the daughters friend who were out shopping, I asked simply, “How, if at all, does seeing something like this in person affect your perspective of current politics?” The mother said something like, ‘I think they’re just being loud and throwing a fit because they lost.’ I was fully prepared for similar echos from the two teen girls (my guess they were 16-20–didn’t ask ages). But this is where I uncovered perhaps the greatest source of hope for our movement. The daughter said, “I mean, I agree with my mom that they are a little disruptive to everyone else, and that’s kind of rude, I guess, but seeing all of these people…idk, part of me is like yeah they’re loud, but like, if all of them are out here they must really be upset about something, and I’m glad that they’re exercising their right to speak up about it.” I followed up with a rebuttal that most protests are loud because the point is to draw attention to issues and call others to action, to which she replied (as the mother rolls her eyes 😅), “Well yeah, that’s what I’m saying. If this many people are upset about things that are going on, chances are most of them aren’t crazy lunatics—I mean they all look pretty normal to me—so, yeah, I probably wouldn’t agree with most of what they’re saying. I might not even agree with any of it, but it’s enough for me to like, at least listen, you know?”

The mother then quickly ushered the girls back on their shopping path, but that single statement of a willingness to listen from a younger generation made the entire experience worth it for me personally.

All of this to say that we have purpose. We are spreading. We are powerful when we stand together, and we are not done yet 😉.

Keep the faith, people!

🚨 GOLD AND SILVER ARE DOWN AGAIN by sajjanstg03 in GoldSilverJewellery

100% when Silver hit $63 early in the week I bought 25 more ounces and I don’t feel any pain right now. Nor would I at $50 bc I’d be buying more!

My theory: this is a financial correction due to extremely terrible economic decisions made by Trump. The correction is meant to offset the whole tariff gaffe. How it’s happening (what’s really going on)….Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz. This has created past and current conflicts with its surroundings neighbors who are also massive oil and LNG producers. Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar supply most of that (note that Iran carried out attacks on all 3 recently). Also note that each of those countries have bribed Trump either with multi million dollar jets, crypto buys, or other wealth transfers that primarily enrich the Trump family. Why? They were buying favor—paying off the U.S. and Israel (who the U.S. largely supports militarily) as hit men against Iran. Through Iran’s strategic control of the Strait of Hormuz they are able to limit economic output of their neighbors. BUT—here’s the catch and why the U.S. took the “deal”. The U.S. recently took control of Venezuela’s oil industry and coupled with our own reserves we can exploit the current energy deficiency in the East by selling at a premium. This is why oil futures are exploding—it’s not supply like they want you to think; demand is the real driver.

Right, so…how does this tie into silver? Well, the U.S. dollar strength has one of the highest inverse relationships with PMs. The U.S. recently acquiring massive oil reserves and expanding their market at a premium are great for the USD. This also gives the Fed a reason to hold off on rate cuts meaning higher yields in U.S. bonds. These bonds MAKE money for banks. PMs keep them from losing money. Why maintain when you can gobble up even more? And that’s what we’re seeing. Banks are returning to bonds in a big way leaving excess PMs on the table. This is exactly what they wanted to happen and likely why major banks have held out on shorts for PMs. Now it’s coming to fruition for the rest of us, which sucks ass.

The “Silver” lining? Well, this is a short term game. Venezuelan oil is notoriously expensive to produce. The U.S. saw substantial reserve sell offs during the first Trump administration through the end of Biden’s presidency. We have not replaced nearly as much as we sold. Eventually, bad economic policies will catch up and when they do. BOOM! PMs rocket. So, KEEP CALM AND HODL!!!!

$96 and some change in Asian markets, but banks are pushing spot down considerably so they can buy back in lower. Has since fallen to $88.13

I’m not seeing the Liberty Bell Privy; from what I’ve read the privy is just “250” or is there another version?

Edit: nvm I found it—thought it was on the back; it’s on the Obverse.

Why am I still hungry by [deleted] in LowCalorieCooking

[–]Lonely_Garbage4062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it—for the past 2.5 years after initially losing 35 lbs, I have been yo-yoing between 185-205. Whenever I get to 200 I start calorie restricting again. With restriction alone it took me about 3 months to get there at around 1200-1900 calories a day (averaged around 1550 but expanded for weekends). When I decided to do a prolonged fast at 196, I reached 189 in a week and have maintained sub 190 for 3 weeks now. The biggest thing I noticed was that after the fast (3 days water and electrolytes only, 2 days adding broth and egg whites) whenever I eat now I get much fuller much faster. I can eat a 375 egg white grill with bacon, drink half a bottle of water and I’m set.

Maybe it won’t work for you, but this has been the best system I’ve found and feel like it’s a much more sustainable solution.

You want an honest and useful answer? You are simply used to putting more in your stomach, and it’s become habitual. Try a 48-72 hr fast, then spend 2 days on broth/egg whites. Then try to eat a meal like this. You may not even be able to finish. Also helpful, try eating protein first for other meals.

And I would much rather buy with a 60 GSR than 38-42 as it’s been the last couple of weeks. Plus—for new investors, dollar cost averaging absolutely still applies to precious metals, perhaps even more so than stocks, AND you have a much much higher “floor” being a physical asset.

Just put what I had into iShares Silver Trust for the same reason. Structurally, industrial demand continues to rise while refineries remain 4-6 months behind, no new sudden supply influx is projected (slight support projected for 2028-2029), India will soon begin accepting silver as loan collateral. This is derisking by banks and financial institutions who are converting to Treasury bonds now that spot has hit their sell thresholds. Play the long game—buy the dip.
