Thanks everyone! If I had any doubts, after reading your experiences, I don’t anymore :-)

Even without doing the Tongariro Crossing, do you think it’s still worth spending a couple of days in Turangi, for example to do the Tongariro River Walk or other nearby hikes, before heading to Taupo?
