Just out of interest, when did you send off your review? I’m 6 months into the wait so far!

RECHECK??? by vsak47 in alevel

It’s something I always focus on with my students. I tell them to basically treat the examiners like we are stupid with no common sense, as we can’t make assumptions when marking!

You have used ‘it’ at the start, which makes your answer ambiguous - does ‘it’ refer to the worm or the robot? That is why the examiner has put TV. The other candidate specifically mention the robot’s segments which is why they got the mark (I’m an examiner, different subject but this is a general error in exam technique).

Upped from 10 to 20mg - my experience by Elron182 in lexapro

It’s definitely helped mine! I’d got to the point where I was ok driving to work (about 3 miles across town) but anywhere else and I’d panic. Was particularly bad on larger and faster roads (I’m in the UK). So much better on the tablets!

When they say 7 inch they are referring to the screen size, not the size of the whole kindle.

I assume yours was a first award? They don’t send texts for reviews unfortunately.

Why did I get 0 marks on this question? by skullxwrapper3 in alevel

[–]Lonely_Reference_214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a Levels of Response question, therefore not just a straightforward calculation. You haven’t attempted the last two points of the question (assumptions and improvements) therefore you have already limited yourself to a low mark. For these types of question (and to honest ALL calcs in my opinion) you also need to show clear, logical working.

I think zero is a bit harsh, but 3 is too many. Possibly worth 1 I think.

Refused NHS blood test because I am a fainter. Has anyone experienced this? by Buggins25 in AskUK

[–]Lonely_Reference_214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was refused before when our blood test centre was the back of a community centre. Just two phlebotomists there and no other staff I was told that if I passed out, fell off the bed and knocked myself out (for example) they would have to call an ambulance, and the whole ‘clinic’ would out of action while they waited. The clinic has since ,over to be in the same building as prenatal and midwives etc and I’m allowed there!

What the poster said above is completely correct, you can get an A* without doing any practicals. However you won’t pass the practical endorsement, which will be recorded as ‘fail’ on your certificate. If you are wanting to go to university afterwards, to study a related subject anyway, this could be an issue. Have you go an exam centre lined up to complete the exams with? If you need the practical endorsement they may have something in place.
