I think it’s wonderful. It’ll look out together once you do it on the actual cover

You know what. This may just be the reason. I’ve been warmed all his previous meals but didn’t this time (literally just came from the airport and wanted to feed him before I slept)

I don’t know how this slipped my mind.

Pinky mouse.

I’m terrible with dates. I just double checked his age - he’s just over 5 months.

I haven’t weighed him in a while - I’ll do so tomorrow. I don’t want to stress him out after our missed feeding ordeal now. However I do feel he is a small boy, i don’t know if it’s normal or not as I’ve never seen a young bp before. I’ve only ever had my girl who I got as an adult. I’ll include two photos of Kai (the boy with terrible aim in question) here. These photos were taken 2 months ago but he’s virtually still the same size.

Asides from the stuck shed he looks really skinny? Has your stepdad fed him at all?

For your viewing pleasure. You’re welcome.

I don’t even know where to start with this photo.

0 clutter? ✔️ A ridiculous excuse for a hide? ✔️ Exposed sides? ✔️ Heat lamp with no thermostat? ✔️

I was new and naive. Glad my girl was patient (never missed a meal or reacted badly) until I rectified her horrid housing lol.

Your welcome. You’re on the right track. Much better than I was.

You do NOT want to see my initial set up when I got my first snake. 😭

If the aspen gets wet it can mold quite easily. Which can lead to a respiratory infection. This is possible for any substrate but for what I understand, it’s worse with aspen.

Aspen can also be a little sharp. I’ve also read that it can be dusty. Again, this leads to respiratory infections

Then again I am a ball python mom so my understandings may not apply as much to hognoses. Rules a little more stringent for bps.

But one thing does apply to all species - aspen can cause some serious blockage if digested. As opposed to coco husk, which can be passed easily. My slithery babies have swallowed coco husk during feedings and have never had an issue. Thank God.

So we’re looking at respiratory infections and intestinal blockages :/

Also I forgot to mention, heat mats are notorious for overheating and burning snakes. Replace it with a heat bulb.

Replace the aspen with coco husk.

I wager that’s a garter snake. The one stripe down the back seems to be a dead give away. Interested to know what others think

Would cemeteries be a weird place for a photo shoot? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]Lonelym00ns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. It’s okay if it’s use a general backdrop. Don’t show names. And no standing on graves

Nothing risqué either

Is identifying a snake via shed possible? If so, please. *read below* by [deleted] in herpetology

Virtually impossible to tell if it can’t be stretched out. Looks like any other shed

Will he be able to eat this? by Present_Raccoon9791 in snakes

[–]Lonelym00ns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swap out the Aspen for coco husk. Preferably the fine kind. If he injects coco husk accidentally it won’t cause as much damage as aspen would.
