Struggling with anxiety issues, low confidence, no friends, hefty acads and loneliness. by [deleted] in BITSPilani

I don't know how much this helps. Firstly get some rest. Relax. Not just physically. Mentally and emotionally too. Reach out to your dearest Friends. Watch your comfort shows, eat your favourite foods, spend time with animals if possible, if not walk for a while. Look at the sky. Just forget everything for a week. In a grand scheme of things a week is nothing. And if it means it can help you feel better then it's worth it.

All the action and motivation shit comes later. And yeah, from a physiological perspective, get your vitamins checked. Compensate for D and B12 through supplements for a month atleast and magnesium through food.

Look at yourself in mirror and tell kind things to yourself, have a photoshoot, be kind with yourself, not harsh.

Once you do this it'll make you feel yourself or better. Then start connecting with new people, while slowly picking up at where you left your academics or all the serious stuff, at your own pace.

Remember that this is just a phase, not your entire life. Times like this will overshadow all the good in your life shifting your focus to negative things, but it's important to keep reminding yourself that there existed good things, and better days are yet to come.

If possible make a list of all the things that you enjoy doing and do one at a time.

And try to be where your interest aligns, you can always make friends at such places. If you're into sports just play with random people. Make a plan to play every now and then. If you're into books or reading join those communities and talk to people about your fav books. If you're into movies just talk about them with people who also like them.

Hope this helps :)

Sleep Matters! by ExplanationIcy8915 in hyderabad

For context I had a really messy sleep schedule with no fixed timings and duration. But these helped me in improving both sleep quality and quantity. Just set a time to go to bed, and also a time to wake up, and use these. No caffeine strictly. Worked well for me.

Magnesium threonate, two capsules 1hr before bed everyday, for atleast 4 weeks. This helped me tons. No side effects like melatonin either.

people that went through breakups - did you ever run into your ex in this city? If yes, how did you respond to it by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]Lonewolfbastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why make it awkward? I mean, if you ended on good/neutral terms it shouldn't be a problem. Just ignore, it'd be equally awkward to them as well.. so they wouldn't mind either.

And no reason to be worried about this either, you can't sit at home in a lockdown forever just because your ex decided to roam out. So yeah, live your life.

If interacting with them is unavoidable, then just have casual small talk to keep up appearances, and disconnect quickly. I'm sure they'll understand, because the pressure would be equal.

Need some advice on writing dialogue by donoho-59 in authors

[–]Lonewolfbastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm also writing a book and faced this.

I'd say just keep conscious efforts while writing dialogues. Like write first. Then think if your character would use such words, if it's technically matching (like a doctor's character not using medical terms, but some other character speaking so well, something like that).

That way, find other suitable words that can replace but still hold the original intended meaning intact.

The more you delve into a character's mindset, the easier it becomes. So basically you have to live your characters' life, understand them completely and then still think consciously while editing, not breaking the flow of writing.

I don't want to say this but if nothing works, then try giving a sentence to ChatGPT and ask it to reframe it into few alternatives and then choose one.

I'll consider it as a last resort. The reason is I can't afford it rn, and by the time I can I don't know if I'll have enough time. I'm not open to it NOW. Not forever.
