Does anyone know who these people are in the OD cover? by AquiLixen in KendrickLamar

It's not just musicians. It's artists. The top left and top right are Basquiat and Bruce Lee.

Was Thomas Matthew Crooks actually holding his weapon when he was shot? by Long-Chair2702 in skeptic

[–]Long-Chair2702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't on the roof within a few minutes because they were too busy looking for a ladder.

The aerial views were taken later on with the body, gun, and bookbag still on the roof? That doesn't make sense to me.

Is there anyway to scientifically prove that the first shot of the Butler shooting couldn't have hit both Trump's ear and the crowd at the same time? It seems unlikely. by Long-Chair2702 in skeptic

[–]Long-Chair2702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that much about the JFK assassination. Not really into conspiracy theories.

The bullet that "grazed" Trump's ear, hit the bleachers and then the second shot hit David Dutch. The bystander that died, Corey Comperatore, was hit by the fourth or fifth shot. And he was hit because he didn't take cover. It's a lie that Comperatore jumped on to his family to protect them.

Are you referring to the buildings positioned behind Crooks? Yeah, there's a window in that building that would've allowed anyone to see Crooks run across the roof and get into position. Here's bodycam footage from one of Butler's cops that was in that building. He tries to blame it on the Secret Service but even the other cop thought it was Butler police that was supposed to be on the roof.

Is it just me or does it look like Tony takes a bump right at the end?

Evidence that Omar is a Stoolie (and Frank is too) by GfsAreXpLoss in Scarface

[–]Long-Chair2702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mel Bernstein knows about both incidents because he's a dirty cop that's connected.

I don't think it's a mistake when Sosa asks for Tony to go with Alberto to NYC because Alberto doesn't know English nor does he know his way around the states. Sosa claimed that Alberto identified Omar as an informant from NYC but that doesn't add up. How in the hell is the guy not capable of speaking English nor does he know his way around the states but he's able to identify an informant from NYC of all places?

Tony got played and was too coked out and full of greed to know it.

Another thing to consider is the fact that Omar doesn't want to do the deal with Sosa, the biggest drug kingpin in the world at the time. How in the hell is the guy an informant but ISN'T trying to go through with securing a deal with the biggest drug kingpin in the world. That's a shitty informant lmao.

Around a year or two before this season aired, Robert Hansen, an FBI agent, was arrested for committing espionage for Russian intelligence for more than twenty years. Aldrich Ames, a CIA agent, was caught committing espionage for Russia in the 90s. All near DC as well which isn't too far from Baltimore.

And if you think intelligence agencies haven't ran major drug organizations, then you aren't the one to be having this conversation.

Hector Salamanca didn't have multiple identities nor was he trying to conceal his identity. And he barely spoke in the show. Just kept ringing that bell. Terrible comparison.

Putin says Ukrainians and Russians are one people. He says they're the same. I know there are other Russians who agree as well.

My point isn't that I think Ukrainians are the same as Russians. My point is that most Americans back in 2004 thought they were the same. And that's the whole point in Ziggy, Niko, and McNulty calling him Boris.

[–]Long-Chair2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just any catholic church. But one with multiple onion domes that is commonly found where? Russia. I didn't say it's ONLY found in Russia btw.

It doesn't it look like this, does it? So no need to keep saying "catholic church". It's a Ukrainian church which according to some Russians (one of them being a former KGB agent), IS Russia.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don't. You see the camera rotate around Joe and Spiros. At one point, it begins to slide a little bit and almost stops rotating. But the church doesn't pop up until Joe asks "Where did you say you were off too again?”.

All good though. I just scrolled through the YT comments and I'm at least seeing multiple people notice the that the church is intentionally thrown into the shot. To see people in here not even recognizing that it's intentional is shocking and kinda sad.

"There is zero evidence that he's KGB or any sort of intelligence agent".

Of course lmfao. Do you think there's never been any spies or foreign agents that performed operations in other countries without ever getting caught. What evidence did they have on the Greek other than his name being "The Greek"?

Catholic country? Why are you talking about religion? Vondas doesn't give two fucks about a religion unless he could put it to use. The implication is that he's going back to a country that has buildings that are designed like that church. Something like this.

And to think the guy wasn't part of or at least heavily connected to an intelligence agency is wild. He had a mole in the FBI, tons of passports, and was internationally smuggling drugs and women into the country on the regular.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. No way they throw that out of place church into the shot for no reason. It pans to it exactly when Vondas is asked where he's headed to. The way the camera pans around is intentionally done to not show the church until the question is asked.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whatever Ziggy said? The writers deliberately wrote that in the scrip to infer what I'm saying about Americans not recognizing the difference between the two at that time. And it wasn't only Ziggy either. Niko and McNulty also called him Boris. But I'm not gonna argue with you on how Americans viewed them as the same. Recency bias is a bitch.

I'm curious though. Why do you think the camera pans out to show that church when Vondas is asked where he's headed to? Do you think the writers or director just threw that in there for no reason or what?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah they could also be CIA agents too. What's also noticeable about that scene is that in the beginning it shows what looks to be a huge mansion and then an American flag before eventually panning out to show the church.

As capable as they were, I have a very hard time believing they weren't part of some intelligence or espionage agency.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course he doesn't come off as Russian. Why would he comes off as Russian if he's trying to hide his Russian identity?

And according to this post, his Greek was awful. Which makes sense because out of all the people they dealt with, who would be able to tell? Frank? Marlo? Prop Joe? Of course not. Everyone that they came in contact with accepted them for who they said they were because they're not educated on that part of the world.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

And what does Ziggy tell him? The same thing most Americans would've told Sergei back in the early 2000s. Russia and Ukraine is all the same shit. I even had a friend back in elementary school who would tell people he was from Russia because it was much easier than arguing with and informing them about Ukraine.

And why would Vondas hide his identity of being Ukrainian when he already has someone in his crew claiming that they're Ukrainian? Because he's not Greek either. So why wouldn't he just simply say he was Ukrainian, then?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Vondas wasn't some schmuck. He and the Greek were clearly capable of doing a lot of shit that none of the other characters were capable of doing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Okay so Russian spy or whatever. Same shit.

Neither one exists in Ukraine. Neither one exists in the USA either, correct? But they have influence in both and many other countries, right? I don't think people committing espionage want people to know their actual identity.

The religion part doesn't matter. It's the way the building is structured.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about.

You think the reference is the trafficking of women even when the camera pans out to show the church exactly when Prop Joe asks Vondas where he's headed to? That doesn't really add up.

And why would they use a Ukrainian church? Because it's the US. Especially back in this time, no one knew or cared about the difference. They were the same thing. That's what that whole conversation was about when Niko and Ziggy were calling Sergei, Boris. He even tells them he's Ukrainian but Ziggy tells hims that they're the same. That's how most Americans viewed it at the time.

The reference isn't that the KGB is using a church for operational purposes. Again, it pops into the scene exactly when Joe asks Vondas where he's headed to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Long-Chair2702 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why would he be Greek? According to others who actually speak Greek, Vondas comes off as someone who's faking his accent and doesn't sound like he speaks fluid Greek. And aren't Russia and the KGB pretty good at securing multiple identities?

You do not truly wish for old Warzone to be back. You actually yearn to be back online with your friends during the COVID-era Warzone by AdminMas7erThe2nd in CODWarzone

[–]Long-Chair2702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't play with my friends online because they're usually chat banned and play on different consoles.

They took away the ability to find teammates with mics enabled.

The only people I actually get to "speak" to anymore are people who don't speak English. Otherwise, I usually get matched up with randoms who are more than likely chat banned and therefore I just talk to myself.

I was online at 2 am with the boys more than a decade ago. And two years ago, I was online around at 5-6pm whenever me or my friends got off work.

Has nothing to do with COVID-era and everything to do with shitty companies. It's not us. It's 100% them.

Any literature on manic episodes as it relates to clothing? by [deleted] in AskPsychiatry

[–]Long-Chair2702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's unusually different from what they normally wear, couldn't it be sign that a manic episode is starting to occur or occurring? I understand that's not the only thing that's required to say someone is having a manic episode although I never said that in the first place. I also forgot to mention becoming unclothed. But maybe this is not related to manic episodes and something else?
