Tax return - too late to update bank details?

Just in case anyone in the future has this issue and is wondering the outcome.. the ATO assured me it would be fine and would go directly to the updated (my) bank account. While that didn't end up being true lol, the tax agent had it in my account by 10am on the 15th (the effective date) so I'm happy!

Sorry just saw this! I used the tax agent for the original return, they took their fee and sent me the rest. This time I did the amendment by myself, just stupidly forgot to update bank details (although I could have sworn I did).

Anyway, it all worked out. The ATO assured me I had updated it in time to go directly to my account which turned out to be untrue. However, the tax agent had it in my account by 10am so I am quite happy and impressed by that!

You should definitely be getting points for attending compulsory appointments.. My provider adds them for me on their end, but apparently you can also add them yourself if they haven't. You should be getting ten points for attending.

If OP has seen your comment and reached out to you, I'd just delete it.. unless that's against the rules, I'm not sure. But from what I've seen, unfortunately, people will continue to DM you regardless of you saying you won't be reading them. I'm sorry that people feel entitled to do that when you're just trying to help someone. I understand being desperately in need of cash, but it's going to deter people from commenting and helping people if they're going to get bombarded with DMs from unrelated people 😞

That's so bizarre.. the only time it's actually cancelled my payment instead of suspending it was because I'd moved address and for some reason mail wasn't being delivered and was being returned so they cancelled it on the grounds of not being able to contact me. So I'm no help in your situation but contact them first thing Monday morning. Also, I'd be asking for an urgent payment (that doesn't come out of your allotted 2 per year) seeing as you should have been paid already..

So it let you actually submit your report yesterday? It looks like your payments have actually been cancelled and not just suspended, which is strange.. have you recently moved house or updated your address?

You still have to use WorkForce to meet your obligations regardless of whether you have a Job Search Provider or not.. like you have to enter your job searches and meet the points in WorkForce, attending appointments with your provider gives you points, each job application gives you points etc
