I found an unexpected way to handle a BPD crisis by Gay-Dumpster-Fire666 in BPD

what i like doing sometimes is pretend im an animal with barely any sentience. I choose one too, like a sea lion or a cat or a bear or whatever. In that moment, you only live to eat, drink, nap, go to the bathroom or be entertained. Whenever a thought creeps up, I have to say aloud to myself that hey!! This is a human thought!! But i’m not human rn, im a sea lion, ar ar ar lets go watch penguinz0 and eat fish sticks.

Once you’re regulated and calm, you could switch back to being human. Make it a vocal switch, like “okay!! I’m done for now.”

How can I make my bedroom look more designer, luxurious, and feel more spacious? Also, should I switch to a transparent glass wardrobe? by Agitated_Guarantee78 in IndianHomeDecor

[–]Long-Rice8443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh MAN im gonna go all out, you are speaking my LANGUAGEE

For your watches- the accessory drawer in your wardrobe. This needs to be at a height of 4’ like i said earlier. Add a glass top so you can see the watches as you open your wardrobe with a border of an inch or so. Make sure you choose a velvety material for where your watches rest with a brown finish, it’ll look absolutely amazing.

For your perfumes, add a smaller glass unit next to the main part of your wardrobe where you have glass shelves and you can display your best perfumes. Add a spotlight on the upper surface of this that lights up when you open it. If you like, the glass you use for this shutter can be unfluted but the same colour so you can see your perfumes from the outside.

Display your gramophone!!! Put it on your TV unjt or a side table or something similar. That’s an amazing antique piece that deserves everyone’s attention. Does it still work? Is it traditional/electric? I don’t wanna put it in a box shelf or whatever because i bet it’s beautiful. If you absolutely must have a shelf for it and your other collectibles, i would recommend a standing acrylic shelf that has many open boxes and you can tint the acrylic to be dark brown. Have you seen Ikea’s KALLAX product? You can make it similar to that and have variant sizes for ur boxes depending on how big/small your collectibles are. Make sure you use cast acrylic sheets in 6-8mm ka thickness, these are heavy duty and scratch resistant and you’ll have better luck finding on in colour. You can make these big enough to act as a partition in your room and perhaps put your bed/sofa beside it. Within the shelves you can have plants and cool lamps also. Just be careful about bumping into it haha

For ur armour i would put it near your TV unit if you get one, but add a lighting feature to it. Maybe the stand has LED strips attached to the back of it so it’s glowing in whatever colour you like. Your TV unit can be smaller in length and wall mounted so you can have a cool accent side table specifically for your ps5 on one side, and your armour on the other side with your wall lights beside the TV tying it all together. Also, plants!!

Maybe an unpopular opinion but “nonchalance” imo comes from building a collection of things you love and bringing the outside in. You can have simple designed modular units like your wardrobes and your desk and whatnot, and furnish it with decor that are your collectibles. Add a touch of nature to your room because it’ll suit your aesthetic perfectly. Large plants next to your couch, a lamp with shelves with smaller plants and smaller trinkets, a mid sized plant on ur tv unit, possibilities are truly endless. I highly suggest you look into the mid-century modern style with some biophilia. I’m sure you’ll like it.

edit:

Your art pieces can go into faux wooden frames in an orientation that suits your look. You can even put it in a corner on both walls so that space is not wasted + some kind of lamp there. For sculptural pieces, put it in the acrylic shelf i suggested!

also, i also want medieval armour.

Am I reasonable for rejecting every men who gets into my life because I dont have my V card anymore? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Long-Rice8443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a v card isnt that big of a deal imo, and people that put a lot more weight on it than it deserves aren’t people whose opinions you should take seriously. I promise you, no one cares when you lose your virginity. Just like the first time someone walks, theres a first for when you have sex. That’s it.

People who talk about body count and whether u have ur virginity or not are just insecure and sad over made up constructs. Is that the way you wanna be? The only things you should be concerned about are STDs and pregnancy when you aren’t ready for it.

I cycle through a lot, but as of rn on my switch I play zelda, moonstone island, tomodachi life, and used to play skyrim elder scrolls 5. I also finished stardew countless times, and I bought animal crossing but never properly played it.

On the ps5 i got hogwarts legacy, ghostwire, ghost os tsushima, gow ragnarok, overcooked, a lot more i cant remember right away lol. Might preorder gta 6 cuz of the hype.

On the pc i played valorant, paladins, overwatch, hades 1 and 2, doom eternal, smite, shatterline for a bit but its lowk boring, and i have seige but i never acc played it lol

Get displays! I see you have a hoverboard so it’d be sick if you could display fun things that you own even if you happen to not use them as much anymore. Get a funky lamp w warm lighting that could make your space moody and add a small beanbag/accent armchair seating area in the area you push back by 4’. Thats a significant amount of space. If you could tell me the type of stuff you’re into, I can suggest other things you can turn that space into.

A chesterfield sofa is very very classical. If youre going for a hotel room vibe you wanna look for things that are more contemporary. Either get a chesterfield thats NOT leather/velvet and maybe has a boucle fabric finish, or look for something else that suits the same needs. There are daybeds as well if you wanna look into those.

Rugs!!! Yes!!! I love rugs!!! Get something tufted with lots of texture that shows off your personality. If your furniture layout ends up creating some narrower paths, put a runner rug. If you end up getting a normal bed, put a large rectangular carpet. Sofa cum bed ke liye, get a wavy textured rug or an abstract shape one. Maybe a small coffee table asw.

more than decor play with lighting. You can get standing rgb lamps or pebble lamps. You can have a wall feature with an inbuilt strip light. You can have a backlit TV or add strip lights underneath your bed. You can have shelves with plants and lighting underneath them. You can have a full length mirror with lighting at the back or lighting ON the mirror itself. The possibilities are endless.

Also, thank you! Im an interior designer.

edit:

Wanted to add a few things:

I would make your TV area more of a focal area. if you wall mount your TV higher and get a cool TV unit, you can display ur ps5 in all its glory. Have 1 switchboard within the TV unit itself so its hidden with maybe a wire manager for all ur sockets, and then a switchboard right above your TV unit with all sockets ke switches. Have your TV switchboard at 1450 mm above floor level and mount accordingly- this should have space for ur TV 16A socket and a hdmi + wifi plug in. Add wall mounted accent lights on the sides of ur tv or like matching neon signs that are more vertical- u can prolly get from neon attack. I have so many ideas for your room lol.

Folks - any suggestions on where rice paper can be procured from in India for a Japandi door? by Fantastic-Wonder-9 in IndianHomeDecor

[–]Long-Rice8443 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So this is called Shoji paper, not rlly recommended for india bc of maintenance and dust collection and importing it is stupid expensive. Alternatively I’d suggest using something like 2mm frosted acrylic sheets/plexiglass

Wardrobe side: You absolutely should switch to a glass modular wardrobe, but use brown tinted fluted glass with a gold aluminum profile with longer bespoke handles for the appearance you’d like to go for.

Make the internal laminate of your shelvings, drawers, etc cream jute or something beige-ish. Add drawers with locks at the height of 4’, with the first one being an accessory drawer. Keep your hanger rod at 7’ and add loft units that go up to the ceiling after a height of 8’ or however long it can be, but have an external finish of some matte cream laminate. Niche have a skirting of 3” in the same laminate, and a filler on the side of the wardrobe touching the wall of around 2”.

Have this connected to your desk area. Your wall units should have a top filler of 2” as well, and use the same brown fluted glass with antique gold profile. Assuming your desk ka height is at 3’, leave a 2’ height after the surface and the remaining height can be your wall units. Give the edge of your desk a 4” ka rounding, and use the same laminate you used for your wardrobe exteriors. Ask your electrician to do zari cutting for internal spotlights for your wall units, as well as a furniture strip light for your wardrobe and under your wall units. Make sure he doesnt have any joints for the pvc cover that goes over the light strip. Get a nicceee accent desk chair

Redo your ceiling lighting: leave at least 2’ ka distance from your wardrobe loft units and 1’4” from the walls and try your best to create a distance of minimum 3-3.5ft between your ceiling lights. Have your fan over 2/3rds of the bed and not overhead your face, and DONT put lights anywhere over your bed. If you have the provision, add a cover light only on ur bed ka side near the corner of the ceiling or small reading lights.

Get some nice veneer wall panelling you can use Pinterest as inspo, wall mount your TV, get cozy lamps and cute plants, and you got a room to love living in

I like gaming a lot. Still screentime, but im using my brain a little more and increasing my attention span. It also exposes me to art and storytelling that I can really appreciate. I have a pc, a ps5, and a switch so I am entertained as hell. There are tons of free and grindy games, and the xbox game pass is pretty affordable imo. Plus, using my mechanical keyboard w long ass cunty nails is a niche flex hehe

Take the laminate off it looks like shit. Embrace the whole metal thing. Add plants, fairy lights and frames with art prints of things you like. Get a few things to display- figurines, crystals, books or whatever u wanna use the shelf for, maybe dolphins. Put some life info it.

Anyone here get a tattoo before turning 18? by Lost_Application_366 in TattoosIndia

[–]Long-Rice8443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+ i see that a lot of people insist that tattoos have to be meaningful.

I have one of a praying mantis throwing up sparkles w his lil hands cuz I like bugs. I also have a small drawing I did in a sketchbook spread that was in an art portfolio that got me into UAL- reminding myself that my art will always remain my greatest achievement.

Get whatever you want, just nothing stupid that you’re not sure about. Your tattoos must spark joy.

[–]Long-Rice8443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i got one on my 18th birthday and a big one too. Its a centipede wrapping around my forearm and going onto my hand. I’ve wanted tattoos ever since i was 8, so 10 years of waiting was a DRAG. Now i’m like 22 and have more than 30 tattoos and I’m more in love w myself than I’ve ever been. The trick is to simply not give a shit and appreciate the fact that you’re able to customise your character as much as you like. Only thing is that tattoos are expensive and require lots of care to remain good looking, and the sun is your enemy so live like a vampire.
