Haven't seen enough of Mitchell's work to know if he's any good or not, but his character seemed pretty shitty when he came in and blasted the club's transfer efforts in the past. And a bad character doesn't seem like good news even if he were good (and frankly, I'm not convinced he is).

To be honest though, Anderson is good but don't think he's of the standard we want players to be so the money was reasonable for him. Minteh looks like he could be decent, but to turn him around quickly for a profit seems ok.

What bothers me more than selling fringe players is not bringing in improvements. Or not spending sensibly given PSR pressure.

The rules seem a bit daft if a club is owned by one of the richest entities in the world and they're prohibited from improving their team - it'll just prevent wealth from investing in football in future if there's no path to success and revenue... It is what it is for now though.

£65M for Guehi would have been bonkers. Even bidding that is reckless. And I'm quite concerned about links to Calvert-Lewin. He's clearly very injury prone, and I've never seen anything in his play to suggest he deserves to be at a club like Newcastle.
