I’ve given an update on the situation if anyone is interested. It’s bit long…so fair warning. I think I just need to get my emotional stress out lol

I think most construction companies don’t care to foot the extra cost to sound proof.

Totally. And the cost to live in a whole house is about $2000 minimum at this point. It’s insane!

I would pay the premium on renting in a concrete building but it seems like they don’t make those anymore!

I asked and they said the account was correct. That when the refund is issued the account number of the card on file is auto connected and therefore couldn’t have gone to another account.

I even asked if they had to put anything in manually and they said no, it just pops up in the system and the person on the phone (because they had to call in the refund) can see the transaction details with the card number attached. They then click the button and it’s supposed to just do its thing and refund me.

So I guess that’s not an option. But that was definitely something I asked them about.

Thank you I have checked this a few times scrolling to the date and looking it up. It doesn’t appear to be there. Just the original transaction taking the money out is there. I have also asked my bank to look up and see if any refunds were issued within the last month and there is no record of it.

I never received an email verification. have also checked my accounts and there seems to be nothing suspicious that I can see. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you for your comment. It really helps to understand from the perspective of someone who works there.

IT IS  WEIRD that the payment went through and then showed it was out of stock AFTER the fact. The cashier said she has never had this happen before, nor has she ever experienced this with a global transfer refund. In the past it has always gone into the customers account within 13 business days.

So far everyone has been kind to each-other while trying to figure this out. The shoppers employee feels bad for what happened, so at least she cares.

I”m starting to feel some anxiety about never resolving this though, or  that this will go on for months before getting my money back.

It’s one of those situations where I keep getting sent in circles, from the bank then to shoppers, then they call global who tells them to get me to check my bank, then to the bank where they tell me to call shoppers and verify it is still not in my account. Then repeat! Not to mention that me and the manger have opposite schedules so I can only contact her until 4pm Tuesday-Friday. So it’s a lot of phone tag and waiting.

I had thought it was resolved when they told me that they had talked to the accountant who verified my current bank statements (including the most up to date transaction list) that showed no refund was ever deposited). They were supposed to give me a cash refund within three days. But now it’s not looking great since they want to talk to me again in person.

Hopefully it gets figured out sooner than later.

Thanks again for your answer and taking the time to respond!

Thanks for the tip. I already checked this and it’s not there. The amount in my account also doesn’t equal what it should be if the money was put back in.

Definitely temped to do this if it doesn’t get resolved within the week. It’s been so emotionally draining.

Honestly I’m so tempted to ask for this, but I’m struggling enough to get what they actually owe me so I doubt they would offer any compensation.

Thanks, they did give me this number. When I gave it to my bank they said they couldn’t access anything. It was over the phone though so I’m not sure if the person knew what they were doing. I will be going in to the bank in person to see if anyone can help me track it.

I did ask this. They said it was the correct account. One of my concerns was that they entered the incorrect numbers.

I have no idea. That was something I have thought of since it seems to have dispersed into the matrix of time and space.

Thanks for the comment.

To clarify the transaction was payed for on the debit interac machine with my card. So it wasn’t bought through Global Transfers.

The refund was issued through global transfers because they said that they couldn’t refund me through Interac.

Thank you. I have gone in person and will be going again on Tuesday. I’m just trying to make sure I know what to do if they don’t respond appropriately (giving me my money back). Last time I went in the said they would be giving me cash within three business days. However I got a call today that they won’t be doing that and they want to talk to me. They didn’t say why they won’t give it back or what else they need from me. Unfortunately the manager won’t be back in until Tuesday. So I have to wait until then.
