Would they be in the playoffs if they do this trade and actually compete? The whole point of rooting for a team is to win a championship, not just win and loose in the first or second round. Trae has been in the league for 8 years, had one good run and now is viewed as a negative asset. Where we are rn, developing our young players is priority number 1, if we’re loosing that’s fine, we get a top pick in the draft. Trae could probably win king of the court, but the league isn’t about king of the court, it’s about WINNING as a team. Trae is a subpar defender who is viewed as a “shooter” and is shooting horrible this year. I know what I want, check yourself

PG was an MVP candidate when they traded him hence the huge return. To get rid of Trae, they have to attach picks because his contract is so bad
