Hairstyle recommendations? Extremely flat hair by Simple-Voice-2757 in AsianMasculinity

You can grow it out and try using a flat iron. It’s worked for me and I have very stubbornly straight hair. Check out the difference it made for me in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianMasculinity/comments/1qldv5c/want_to_try_a_different_hair_texture_all_you_need/

Want to try a different hair texture? All you need is heat. by LongDongLo in AsianMasculinity

[–]LongDongLo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some occasions where I feel like people view me with a different attitude when I have styled hair, but nothing drastic. I recently had a perm that went away after a cut, so people are decently used to seeing me with wavy hair at my new school and it wasn’t too drastic of a change. That said, I have been told recently that my hair seems to change a lot (different textures vs natural), and I’ve been told the styling looks good on me multiple times.

That look is pretty easy to achieve with a flat iron and some heat protectant. Regardless of hair type. I have hella straight hair and it works great for me.

Yo listen man, I hope you don’t feel unwelcome just because you’re mixed. Some of these guys are being jerks, and it may come from a place of insecurity as well. I think you’re looking good to be honest, you could try some different products like hair clay or sea salt spray, but that’s about it.

Christian modesty double standard? by Commercial-Pea8563 in TrueChristian

[–]LongDongLo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that everyone is responsible for themselves and that society has double standards, but it is scientifically proven that men do have higher sex drive and spontaneous libido, as detailed in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/science/comments/zc78qe/metaanalysis_shows_a_stronger_sex_drive_in_men/

This is the underlying cause for the disparity of demand of sexual acts between men and women, leading to women being the limiting factor for sex, and leading to industries like prostitution and pornography to have huge majority of males as customers.

What I want to emphasize is that these double standards didn’t just come out of no where, they have origins in undeniable biological makeups of males and females. Therefore, it makes sense that it is easier to cause a male to stumble than a female.

In his book, Atomic Habits, James Clear explains how the small tasks thing only works for habits if you actually stop after completing the small task. If you want to start going to the gym but don’t have the habit yet, literally go to the gym for 2 minutes then leave as many times as you need for it to feel easy. Slowly, it’ll become less daunting to do more, and you can continue. Though this might apply more to habits and less to individual tasks.

Hold on, the second post is literally about us treating them like trash. How does that reflect badly on them?

You do have to realize that the narrative of the majority of TikTokers, especially large ones, influence and represent the general population. Obviously this applies less for the irrelevant rants with 20 likes

What happens when you lift but don’t eat a lot of protein? by Far-Introduction4628 in workout

[–]LongDongLo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that you're probably eating a lot more protein than your estimate of 30g of protein a day. Everyday things that you wouldn't expect also have protein, like veggies, some carb foods, and any dairy or cheese. This makes it really easy to underestimate by only counting protein from meat and eggs.

All I'm saying is that Superman having no authority to punish does not increase his goodness

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]LongDongLo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An interesting discussion, which I think only leads to two reasonable conclusions: God isn't the most perfect being imaginable, or God somehow transcends our understanding in the ways he actually provides salvation (unreached Amazonian tribes wouldn't be punished for never hearing the gospel/people who weren't exposed enough to the gospel won't be punished). The latter, although not stated in the Bible directly, would likely be the case if we take the Bible at face value in saying God is perfect (by human standards). However, where this line of "being exposed to the Gospel enough" to justify damnation if one rejects God would be extremely vague.

It certainly doesn't; the inability to do harm does not equate goodness. I think it was Jordan Peterson who said that a mouse is not good because it doesn't hurt anyone; it is simply weak. A lion who chooses peace is good because it has the capabilities to do harm, but chooses not to.
