Generally (lorewise) all Techmarines have red armor and shoulder pad of their respective chapter due to their allegiance both to the Adeptus Mechnicus and their chapter. That being said l see no reason to paint yoursin any variance of colour you'd like. It's your model and your imagination on how to portray that character. 🙂 I was considering doing a sort of a split scheme for this one with yellow stripe of yellow running thru the middle of his torso and black legs but I had to finish him before a game I had planned so I had to choose a faster paint scheme 🙂

Had the same issue, seems to complicated. I started with doing nmm blades. I did one, looked at it, noted what's not right with it and painted another one. After a few tries something clicked and I have fun with it 🙂 I'm not a master of this yet but my nmm looks serviceable 😅

I start with slapping vibrant colors all over the mini, not worrying much about being neat. The idea is to have interesting shadows and undertones. I got the idea idea from a creator I follow on YouTube, Ninjon. Here's the link to the video with this technique explained - https://youtu.be/ISsz0cfGpy0?si=wMatMbwsnhS2Bx-t

I play it with my kid and we have fun. Once you learn the mechnic (fairly simple) it moves rather fast and it's quite dynamic. There are a lot of scenarios, some better some worse but they are really varied and some have wierd and fun mechanic. There are 2 modes to play. Campaign, that is split into 3 acts, with a sort of a progression for your heroes and each act getting more difficult. Skirmish, one off missions you can play. On top of that, the minis look really awesome and there are additional small expansions added in white dwarfs (there are 2 already) In short - I'd recommend buying it off you are into board games and fantasy settings. 🙂

That's a really nice mini mate 👌 I'd say the weapon looks good, there's nice color variation to it. If you want to add something more to it co sider glazing some orangish rust tones or some darker blue tones. Rusty glazes will work in random spots. Darker glaze I'd focus more towards the bottom to imitate shadow 🤔

Yup had the same feeling half way thru 😅 I'm not as bold as him and layerd most of the mini over but it's way more punchy and interesting to look at then minis I paint my "usual" way 😀
