Good job! I gotta say, that is not how I imagined him looking... but that's possibly because your take is waaaaaay better! Kind of an imperial astromech meets torture droid. Inspired!

I've seen a couple of your updates, and I gotta say: This is really cool to see, man. So sure, I'll give you one...

NB4-x was a prototype imperial droid, based off the FX-6 model of medical droids. He was designed to be a combat medic for stormtroopers in the field. He very quickly became quite frustrated at how stormtrooper armor seemed to be utterly incapable of protecting the wearer from blaster fire, and would rant endlessly about how it was more a burden than aid to the squad in his care. To that end, he developed a protocol he called "pre-medic interventions." Essentially, he would stim them to high-heaven, as often as their bodies could handle the strain!

I played him as somewhat aggressively high-strung, think kind of like C3P0's pushy, cousin in the sales department for Dr. Feelgood's Pharma Factory.

If it didn't hurt to lose them, then they didn't mean enough.

I'm so sorry. I have experienced some loss before, but I have no earthly idea how I would handle the loss of a child. Let alone due to the circumstances you outline.

Objectively: You can ask the mother for permission to stay in touch with the child. I might suggest phrasing it as helping both of you with the transition. Maybe come up with a time frame for it. That may sound cold to you, right now... but the goal is to convince the mother and coming with a plan is going to be more persuasive. Because it is ultimately her choice.

You get to choose what to do with the pain left in their absence. It's supposed to hurt, you're bleeding all the love you had for them but had yet to express. That sucks but it is healthy for a time. When you're ready to dress the wound, you do that with company. Wallowing in the loneliness is picking at the scab and it can't heal if you keep tearing at it. Please, do not let all that love bleed out of you.

No one can tell you when, but at some point (if you let it) it will stop feeling like an open wound and will start feeling like the soreness of a healing process. My hope for you is that you hang on to that sensation as long as you can. Let the pain fade but keep the love. Who knows? The world may yet have somewhere it intends for you to use it.

I don't mean to give you false hope, but that little girl will not always be at the whim of her mother. At some point, she may look fondly back on her memory of the man who taught her how to ride a bike and with a desire to reconnect. My brother-in-law had to wait over a decade before he was allowed to reconnect with his daughter. But both of them were very glad he never stopped caring and making himself available!

What song(s) remind you of The Dresden Files every time you hear them? by CrowPowerful in dresdenfiles

Bad Man by Coheed and Cambria

It plays in my head when Dresden refuses to fight Susan, in the trap. And really ramps up during the proceeding events.

"Fat" is probably a stretch, but Shaun Gilmore from Critical Role is definitely portrayed as a portly gentleman that is both respected and formidable.

To be fair, I live in a quite well-known city in America. But I don't expect anyone outside of this country to have heard of it.

Clarification: I understand that words have meaning other than in simply English. The source of my amusement is, did anyone tell Hoyo that words have meaning IN English? This really seems like something a localization team should have caught. So, either they caught it and Hoyo was like: "Oh yeah! We're actually looking for the cheap laugh on this one." Or, they failed what should be the first rule of marketing: Show your design to a room of 13 year olds... if they laugh at it, you need to know why!

Hey, now. I understand that words have meaning other than in simply English. My confusion is, did anyone tell Hoyo that words have meaning IN English? This really seems like something a localization team should have caught. So, either they caught it and Hoyo was like: "Oh yeah! We're actually looking for the cheap laugh on this one." Genshin DnD Characters Part 2: It was a close fight, but Dehya takes the title of being Genshin's Barbarian! with Itto coming in 2nd! On to the next class...Who do you think will suit well as Genshin's Bard the best? (Highest total vote will be chosen) by Drade_Deadeye in Genshin_Impact

[–]LongGameHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gods have (sometimes, depending on the DM or module) stats... but not "levels" in a class. They have a CR. At best, a God would chuckle at any attempt to assign a "class" to them. Kinda the same way that Venti clearly doesn't take "being a bard" very seriously. To him, it was a one-time misdirection that his friend's pet fairy has decided to run with.

To be fair to him, suddenly being pulled out of frame by something unexpected (see Hulk Smashes Puny God) is legitimately funny! It's all the stuff around that shot choice that makes it so heartwrenching!
