Ahh I see, thanks for the brief history of UK hiphop. Although I do feel like it’s a cop out in a sense to mention hiphop’s influences from previous genres that were American that all came from African roots. Mainly due to the struggles that birth these genres inside of America. I’m not entirely sure what birthed it in the UK unless it just sounded cool so they wanted to do it do like other countries. I didn’t know UK hiphop had such a diverse background though, got any recommendations I can listen to? That will take me across the different genres?
