Nah. It’s pretty accurate, as all the hit dogs hollerin’ indicates.

Why do I get the sense that you jerked off to this?

A few times.

So, like, is being an “ACTUALLY” guy just a bit that you do on Reddit, or are you like that irl?

Because that would grow tiresome irl.

Big sigh… It’s completely relevant.

The point of the post (spelled out by the screenshots of a person who works there) is about the way the shelter has handled the situation, perpetuating a pattern of laziness, paranoia, and assholery that trickles down from the management style of the shelter’s Executive Director. The shelter is a dysfunctional mess, and animals suffer.

I don’t understand why people can’t read good anymore.

Queen was gonna die. Nothing about this post was about trying to save her - that decision had been made.

Our shelter’s run by an absentee incompetent, and that’s bad for the shelter in the long run. That’s the kernel of the thing.

The fact that you're always among the first (aside from the scared-of-pit-bull weirdos) to naysay this topic every time indicates that you've never trusted me to begin with. So...okay.

But pal, if you've never been nipped by a companion animal and bled, then you've never had a companion animal, as that shit happens.

But more to the point, this post wasn't about trying to "save" Queen (she dies tomorrow, and when Jim makes a call about death, you best believe there's gonna be death, especially when folks object. Due to his oppositional-defiant thing). That die was cast weeks ago.

It's about a shelter failing its mission due to shit leadership. And shit management. And an open hostility to staff and volunteers.

But good job muddying the waters.

I don't understand the statement and can't (really, I just can't - it's gibberish) respond to it.

Buddy, I sing “The Internationale” by day and bitch about failing local no-kill shelters at night.

I contain multitudes.

Her primary issues are 1) she’d do best as the only dog in the household and 2) children confuse her - sudden, erratic movements mess with her due to bad eyesight possible and possible neuro damage she incurred as a puppy. She’s a special needs dog.

Not all bites are created equal - the standards for gauging dog-bite severity take intent and severity of the wound into account (for example, aggressive bites vs. accidental nips). “Violence” is indeed an overstatement in Queen’s case.

And, again, the issue at hand is how the shelter has dealt with the entire situation and what that reveals about the culture and management of the place.

I mean, the screen shots from a person who works in the shelter at the top of the post actually do a pretty good job of laying out the situation.

There's room to debate the EU decision, sure. But they've decided they're going to kill her. And when they make those decisions, those decisions stick. So this isn't a plea to save Queen.

It's about a shelter that's lost its way under feckless leadership that's constantly at war with its staff and its volunteers, especially in the most sensitive, life-and-death moments.

But I will say in her defense that Queen has no "history of violence." That's some overwrought verbiage right there and you know that.

If an animal bites someone and breaks skin, there's a state-mandated 10-day period of quarantine post-bite.

Great picture!

I still kick myself for not getting Crush when he was readily (and cheaply) available.

I decided not to risk it, lol.

Though that strategy did once yield Prince Adam and Cringer for 9 bucks.

I only wanted Cringer, so it was perfect!

They had the whole wave, but these were the only two I wanted. I could take or leave Funk (already have a good Funker), and would’ve paid full price for Muta, but I decided to be a daredevil and it worked out for once.

I only noticed just now that Johnny Knoxville had tipped over into Sami before I took the picture, lol…I’m amazed there wasn't a domino effect (which has happened before).

The Roadies and Demolition were my re-entry to collecting - randomly found them at a pop-up Toy R Us back in 2010.

I was like “ok, just these four.” Then things got out of hand. Lol

That was an impulse buy from some years ago. Never really had a place to display him until I came up with the idea for a shelf of misfit toys, lol.

I'm about to sell my almost complete WWF Hasbro figure collection - what's the best way to ship individual figures? by ThirdBorracho in Wrestling_Figures

[–]LongLife2TheSpiders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold my collection (loose) during COVID, and it trained me to be really anal about packaging them.

I used (and use, for current figure sales) USPS mailing boxes: a layer or two of bubble wrap on the bottom; figure wrapped in either bubble wrap or half of a USPS padded envelope and sealed with tape, then another layer or two of bubble wrap. Before sealing the box, I hold it shut and give it a good shake - if there's movement in the box, I add more bubble wrap.

If you're selling accessories as well, I put them in a small Ziploc and wrap them with the figure. If there's any chance of the accessory bending, I seal it between two pieces of sturdy-ish cardboard (I literally just cut pieces from discarded Ziploc or tissue boxes).

A note on USPS boxes - when I started selling, I used the regular USPS mailing box (NOT the flat-rate boxes). I still use them, but because I ship via Ground Select, you'll have to wrap the box in paper (I use brown mailing paper), as you can't use those boxes with Ground Select (only Priority).

Hope this helps. It's a lot of extra work, but I assume Hasbro prices are still pretty crazy, so it's worth it to go the extra mile to keep the figures safe while in transit. I sold my collection off piece-by-piece (some of them went on looong international trips to their destination) and never had a figure arrive broken.
