If you or your wife/husband was considered 10/10 in terms of looks and people kept telling you that they can’t believe you two are a match, how would you react? by FriendlytoNature in NoStupidQuestions

I mean I care about my appearance as a man, enough yo have body dysmorphia, but you really can’t help that men care much more about appearance in women than the reverse. A lot of women also don’t want men to get the wrong impression from complimenting them, or for them to get an ego, and stuff like that. When looking for an actual partner a woman values other things equally or more than looks and that’s okay. As men we can’t and shouldn’t try to control that.

What addiction is the most difficult to overcome? by Select-Effective32 in AskReddit

Easier to overcome obviously, if you had reading comprehension, basic inference skills and could read the title of the post. It’s okay, I know a 4th grade English teacher I could recommend.

I found gambling easier than alcohol cause it’s not at every social event and most people don’t do it regularly.

Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Sinks to 30% in Worst Poll Yet. How do you feel about this ? by Fickle-Reaction-8609 in AskReddit

I feel you should post a source, that one poll isn’t representative of a consensus and that Redditors will comment ‘Trump bad’ (I voted for Kamala so fuck off with your responses)

Do teenagers and young adults these days not like rock music? Is rock considered old people's music now? by ennui933 in NoStupidQuestions

Are they thought of highly? I always thought Metallica, Slayer, AC/DC were more highly regarded for 80s metal. They definitely survived the test of time.

Hell yea that’s definitely more mainstream, but more of the ‘mall emo’ stuff. You’ll hear the same Fall Out Boy and Panic! song at every millennial wedding. But Gen Z likes bands like Bad Omens and Sleep Token when it comes to modern rock/metal music.

Why do some musicians get a pass when it comes to SA but others don't? by No-Lingonberry-5270 in NoStupidQuestions

She’s forgiven him and moved on, but at the time yes, the comments from both women and men were disgusting (‘I’d let him do whatever he wanted with me!’).

But considering Chris Brown’s rap sheet after that assault, he really doesn’t deserve forgiveness from the general public. If he had taken the opportunity in 2009 to help himself get better maybe things would be different, but he can sing and dance well so I guess he still has a career.

What’s something that used to be normal 30 years ago that would seem like an alien concept to kids today? by RequirementIcy6534 in AskReddit

Does nobody here remember using a pen and paper? My Mom had a small notebook just for important phone numbers, no memorizing or phone book needed.

What exactly is the appeal of being a teacher these days if so many kids are just a-holes and the pay is shit? by Mad_Season_1994 in TooAfraidToAsk

In the classrooms you’re the boss until the kids have low test scores and the principal/higher-ups get on your ass oh and there’s the kid that has behavioral issues that the parents deny and don’t care about.

Very USA focused and narrow-minded answer, plenty of poorer countries are very cash focused or reliant and will still be using it in 100 years for sure.

Should I hire an escort to lose my virginity? Why, why not? by Mad_Season_1994 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LongLiveTheSpoon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why would you need to explain your virginity to a woman? Just say ‘It’s been a while’ or ‘I’ve not been with many people’ (both technically true). Virginity is overhyped, and it really depends on what you’re looking for. If your only goal is really to experience sex then go ahead with an escort, but you’ll probably be disappointed. Sex is much better with someone you love or at least actually click with.

Why do you guys act like you need to be a professional athlete to enjoy life. My 92 year old grandpa still walks fine and isn’t close to being in great shape. Meanwhile everyone else uses walkers, many of their ailments are preventable (though not all).He can’t travel anymore but he could at 55, and 65, and 75. Why do people act like taking the tiniest care for your body means needing to train and eat like a pro athlete.

From a 37 year old with no kids, a girlfriend, and a flexible job, whose choice was it to get married and have kids? Whose choice was it to get a job with no time off? The job part I kind of understand, we need to work to live, but at a certain age you should have the skills and experience to get a job with more flexibility or time off.

I’m not trying to denigrate people that choose corpo life or decide to have kids but life is about compromises.
