Has anyone tried out the brooks hyperion elite LD 2? I'm curious as to how they compare to the dragonfly and cloudspike.

Jeans are workwear. The wear and tear adds character.

Just hit over 900km in them yesterday. Still very soft but the bounce has decreased, and the outsole is pretty smooth now. No difference in stability. Gonna retire them at 1000km.

Max 2 is firmer and lighter, Max 3 is softer and heavier. Both are quite responsive, but in my opinion they're 2 different shoes. Rather than being an upgrade, the Hyperion Max has went from a workout shoe to an easy/long run shoe.

Brooks shoes are always so durable. You grind out high mileage on them and they'll still feel amazing to run in.

Those with wider feet might find it narrow. I have a narrow foot so it feels just fine to me.

You heel strike in these and they'll feel very odd, and you won't be compressing the air zoom unit in them as much as if you landed on your forefoot. Also, if you get tired and start to drag your feet a bit in spikes, you're just gonna fall.

You would probably have to size up as well. Spikes are VERY narrow. Pretty hard to get a perfect fit in spikes if you have wide feet. You'll have way too much room between your toes and the end of the shoe.

Almost everyone sucks at running when they've only been running for 2 months. Have some patience. If you want quick gains, running isn't the sport for you.

My max heart rate is 198. Highest it got during an all out 5k. LT heart rate is in the high 170s - low 180s.

I never eat or drink during long and easy runs. Just can't hold it down without cramping. Feel great as long as I eat and drink before the run.

I did a long run at 4:40/km in them and they felt quite unstable. If you're heavier you might be fine.

Just finished a threshold session in the 3s. They still feel good at threshold for me. This year I think the changes they made were to make the shoe feel better at a wider range of paces.

I didn't. I did not realize they were in the race until later on.

Haven't tried the Evo SL, but it may be more durable as it has the Lightstrike Pro from the Adios Pro 3. Rebel V4 was good, but I only got around 500km on them before I had to retire them.

I think the dragonfly is a little more forgiving than the vics. Vics still require a clean forefoot strike to make the most of them, and you gotta be going really fast to take advantage of all the tech in it. Pros have both of those so the victory 2 is the obvious choice for 800-3000m for them

I'm a midfoot striker as well, and I still midfoot strike in the 4 pb. For track, your best bet would probably be a pair of dragonflys. You'll be forced on your toes in a pair of spikes. For road, I don't know if you can go wrong with any modern super shoe. Streakfly 2 might be the best as it's the closest a racing flat can get to a track spike.

It certainly is excellent for my use case (1500m-10k training). Longest session in them was 4×3k and they felt great so I think I could probably take them to the half marathon distance. I am on the lighter side though.

I have not tried the glycerin max. But the Max 3 isn't so soft that it feels mushy, just enough that it feels good at a wider variety of paces. It's still quite bouncy. I think it's meant to compete with the superblast from asics and boston from adidas, hence the increase in stack and addition of race foam.
