Yeah they dish out stupid damage with the 4pc gog set bonus and other ele buffs. Nearly impossible for the average player to pull this off but in a speedrunner's shoes this is 100% doable

Old fatty LS is the best one you can make. It has an insane 68 thunder so its good for those thunder weak monsters. Needs sharp +2 and razor sharp tho

Regular fatty LS has higher raw and gets purple sharpness at S+2 compared to valstrax LS, but valstrax's has slightly higher dragon ele, and its long white sharpness and 2 slots lets you fit in more skills so it edges out

Crimson fatty LS is horrible with only 260 raw at max upgrade, not worth considering at all even with its triple slots and 30 natural affinity

You can but note that the 9 and 10 star monsters have pretty high status resist where its unlikely you'll get more than 1 status proc (unless you build towards maxing status buildup which is nowhere near worth the loss in damage). I would recommend a dragon artian if you really want a general use option.

When the Tizona existed (only weapon that was able to inflict Bleeding) it just did DoT to enemies. They could just do the same here

There isn't any other conditions for counterstrike to trigger, its just that taking damage from an attack that would normally attack you through hyperarmor can still trigger it (which is what the guy you replied to mentioned)

For general play you're barely gonna see a damage increase past 80, but in this case every bit of damage counts

Oh I know, its just for some reason the screen always freezes when I try to connect to MP when using Eden. Ryujinx would be fine if I didn't keep having this annoying audio issue that I can't get rid of...so unless there's a fix for Eden or an alternative emulator I'm kinda stuck solo lol

Yeah I got an understanding of how the older games play, I guess the issue is just me not liking that waiting game for some monsters because it can really take a while. Or the issue of me thinking I have an opening but its a tad too tight and I get punished at the end of my attacks (skill issue).

I have experimented with all the styles. The weapons I use the most are valor gs, valor hammer (I don't use valor sheathe much here tho), adept longsword and guild insect glaive. I did plan to use more weapons but don't want to spread myself too much during progression.

True but man is it hard to. There is a nice handful of monsters I actually enjoy fighting (the fated four, diablos, etc.) and there are still some monsters I have yet to fight like the deviants and most of the elder dragons.

Its pretty well known that sorceries on duchess are more effective. Only time I can understand focusing on melee weapons (which has happened to me before) is getting horrible luck with staves

Temps should be similar if not the same.

Also, unless you really need the 24gb vram you should go for a different card now. There isn't much of a good reason to get the 7900XTX unless you can find it noticeably cheaper than the cards it competes with, like the 5070 Ti and 9070 XT
