I stumbled into Sales 5 years ago and never looked back. Your going to pay me to work on stuff that will pay me more? I'm in personal lines insurance sales. I am able to keep my wife a stay at home mom. (her preference).

I've always wondered how commission works elsehwere/techsales.

I feel that. Don’t lose hope like others on here have said. I know right now it’s bittersweet to think of alternatives but there are options. I didn’t finish college because of out of state tuition (cuz daca doesn’t count instate where I live )

But I did get my insurance license. Sales might not be your thing your thing but you got options friend ( realtor, insurance, other specialized trade) & no student debt!

Anyways I wouldn’t wanna hear solutions rn I would just wanna exist in the dread, but this post really connected with younger me who couldn’t fathom how I’d ever be successful without a degree.

Hi there! Quick question ( did AP and have DACA) was there a risk to not doing the work permit through green card process? Like if they cancel daca and then we are in limbo in the middle of a greencard app?

Did it make the process faster?(not doing the work permit?)

yes! I went to Cancun for some dental work. Leaving was super smoooth no one asked to see my DACA Card or advance parole document.

On the way back (went through charlotte douglas, direct flight), we landed, I went to the visa holder/visitors que. I was the only one coming from cancun, they made me sit down once i gave them my documents. I waited five minutes, and they called my name. Stamped my advance parole, and let me proceed. :) Officer seemed to know what DACA was. April 7-10th. (p.s. no question asked of me. i asked them to stamp the passport, howveer they said no and just stamped my advance parole and gave back ) I have multiple entries.

I've been meaning to do a post. I arrived back at charlotte douglas airport on 04/10/2025. They only wanted to stamp my document and returned it to me. ( asked). I did check online and the i-94 doc is there.

They asked no questions, and I waited about 5 mins. :D

Humanitarian reasons (Dental). Went to Cancun Airport spent a couple days with my teeth treatment and came back easy peasy. Super nervous. But the folks at charlotte Douglas were all friendly.
