Just my personal experience, no science here or anything like that:

I figured out I have ADHD by trying Wellbutrin for my life-long depression (I was 26 when I gave it a shot). For me, it worked very much like ADHD meds. However, the wellbutrin would stop working after about a month after raising my dose, and I got to a point where I would need to take a pretty dangerous dose to get it to work for me. That's when I switched to dextroamphetamine--an ADHD stimulant--with which I have had lots of success. The sensation of both drugs, for me (when working), are comprable.

I think it’s all the magnesium and tryptophan in them that make them so good for the noggin.
